Not even Ann Coulter was able to find a single valid instance of Democrats mocking people for believing in God, NASCAR, etc. She had to make them up out of half, quarter, and untruths. What do you know that the right-wing noise machine doesn't? West Virginians--and many others--simply believed the right-wing liars who chose to portray Democrats/liberals this way. Liberals are not responsible for this, except possibly in failing to recognize the seriousness of the threat and taking adequate steps to counter it.
For the record, I am an East Coast liberal who *doesn't* like hunting or country music, as is my right under the moribund U.S. constitution. But neither I nor anyone else I know mocks anyone for listening to country music, hunting, or praying. Some of us--myself included--are committed Christians who actually know and believe what Jesus teaches, unlike the right-wing phonies at Fox News and the White House.
Well, at least twelve of them won't have to read that insult.
Thanks to the reality distortion chamber of the Right Wing Noise Machine, these former Democrats ended up electing a man who rarely goes to church, has a long history of disobeying the teachings of Jesus, and has now, apparently, reserved for himself the right to waive restrictions on torture. Meanwhile, the "liberal elitist" they rejected is a practicing Catholic with a long history of philanthropy and public service, as well as a stellar military record.
My head hurts.
