Let's not Forget The Economy

Ask George and Dick about $4.00/gallon gas (remember Dick's secret meetings with the oil industry?).

Stupid

Bush's election proved that our system of public education is not working very well.

The Bush Legacy

G.W. Bush He F----D UP EVERYTHING

Sunday, June 8, 2008 07:59 AM

Simple....

He will be remembered as the Man Who Broke the Promised Land.

Bush? Remembered?

Let's see. Hmmmmmm. Nothing good, that's for sure.

I don't need to recount anything here. Michael Moore has said it all. G. W. Bush, I'm sure, will go down in history as the most ineffective and embarrassing president this country has ever had. Let's just get an intelligent gentleman in the White House now (NOT McBush)-- someone who can speak literate English, doesn't need cue cards or voice prompters. Someone who isn't a dictator trying to force other countries to be like America? Really? Even Americans can see this country is no example to follow. Unless you agree with the greed, price gouging, lies, idiocy, etc., etc., etc.

Tom Tomorrow

He proved Tom Tomorrow right that 50,000,000 Americans are stupid- twice.

Sunday, June 8, 2008 07:03 AM

Gee if only....

...someone would shoot him and he would be remembered as the third American President to be assassinated and probably the only one to truly and heartily deserve it. But then as they say, only the good die young. "Hear Barney, lick ,my ass."

It is the job of historians to redefine the past

Historians make their bones on looking at the past differently. In fifty years, when passions about Bush will have cooled due to the passage of time, the view of him might be very different. No one can know or predict with certainty what the future holds. Would anyone in 1953 ever foresee the rehabilitation of Truman's reputation? At the time he was accused of (a) losing Korea, (b) letting nuclear weaponery out of the bag while he was snoozing, (c) being soft and compliant on the Soviets. Now he is looked at as a model of political courage for both parties. Americans always look back on former Presidents more fondly than they did when they were in office. Heck, people even like to talk about Nixon's foreign policy acumen now. Don't bet on some rehabilitation of Bush's reputation -- in fact, bet on it happening; it always has in the past.

Lying and Incompetence

And, of course, getting us into this disastrous war of choice, leading to international infamy, shredding the Constitution, torture, spying on US citizens, and all the other sins others have mentioned.

What will Bush Be Remembered For?

He will be remembered as the made that took away Americans freedoms while waging an illegal war. He has undermined democracy in a manner that no other president has ever attemtped, not even Nixon! As oil spirals ever upward and the American economy is in shambles, the Bush man makes appearances on news shows and talks about nothing of substance. We all better pray that this administration doesn't try to maintain its hold on our throats by declaring a state of emergency before the 2008 elections!

Bush/Cheney Legacy is Secure

Yes, we have faced a unique enemy for the past eight years: namely Bush/Cheney. They have been far more of a threat to the safety and stability of this country than any so-called terrorists. Their legacy includes: lying to everyone in order to justify the invasion and occupation of Iraq; not only cleaning out the U.S. Treasury but adding literally trillions of dollars of more debt that will take decades for all Americans that follow after Bush/Cheney to pay off; complete incompetency in handling the greatest natural disaster (Hurricane Katrina) that we have experienced; establishing the concept of the imperial presidency; suspending Habeas Corpus, one of the founding principles of this country; breaking federal law with impunity through warrantless wiretaps; immorally embracing and authorizing the torture of other human beings; brokering a huge transfer of wealth from low and middle income people to the already wealthy through tax cuts for the rich, and ad nauseam. It should be made clear to Bush that his legacy as "worst president in history" is already firmly secured and he does not need to do anything else completely insane, like military action against Iran, to achieve his legacy.

the Bush legacy

A bizarre combination of arrogance, self-righteousness, fanaticism, corruption, and ineptitude that was foisted on a easily manipulated US populace, with help from a complicit mainstream press corp and a spineless congress. It is shamefull to think that this administration is responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths (if not millions) and yet will not be held accountable by going on trial for, at the least, willfully deceiving the US citizens at home or at most commiting war crimes abroad.

Legacy of twig

He dumbed down the language ("misunderestimated"), engendered class warfare (from the camp of the "have more's"), and seriously jeopardized our civil liberties for maybe a very long time, while claiming to have INVADED an innocent country without cause but nominally to bring "freedom." And got away with it. So much for responsibility. And accountability. And talk about an embarrassment of riches. Because he is absolutely convinced he is and has been in, as well as of, the right.

Flademocrat

That pappa Bush should have been sterile.

Saturday, June 7, 2008 01:12 PM

Hopefully a lesson learned.

I hope that the deliberate deceit of Bush and his cronies will never be forgotten. Our Congress stood by and let the Constitution be made a sham by allowing Bush to make the executive branch the trunk of the tree instead of one of the limbs that keeps the tree balanced, remember checks and balances? I hope that he will be brought up on war crime charges, hopefully this will help to balance the harm we allowed to be perpetuated upon the world and ourselves. I find it repulsive that at times I am ashamed to be an American but there is still hope that my faith can be restored. I and all Americans will have to be deligent in the future and be held responsible for the actions of our leaders.

Wait and see

How would Lincoln be remembered if McClellen had won in 1864? And that would have happened if Jeff Davis had not replaced a cautious commander with a reckless one. The greatest irony would be if Obama's first visit to Baghdad would be in 2010 to make a speech to the Parliament of a united Iraq.
