3. Let's say we follow your advice and purchase a Mac for eventual resell. Increased market share will only reduce the "trade-in" value of my soon-to-be replaced Mac, which invalidates the entire offer.
Mac's are great. I'm even suggesting that if we do get a laptop for my grandparents for Christmas we should seriously consider a Mac, but to suggest that it's cheaper to buy a Mac than a PC is just ludicrous. The initial investment is significantly bigger for Macs, and that's all that really matters except for the few who are willing to append footnotes like your article.
