Once and for all, proof that Macs are cheaper than PCs

Let's put to rest the myth that an Apple computer will set you back more than a Windows PC. In fact, it'll cost you less.

    Macs Forever

It always makes me laugh to hear pc people try and justify their microsoft world over a mac.

Right now I am writing from brand new 24-inch imac, 2.8 ghz, 2 gb memory, intel processor and a 750 gb hard drive. The screen is to die for. Forget buying the HD screen, I can just watch movies on my mac. And I just installed Windows XP last night using VMWare. Runs like a charm. Who needs a PC when you've got the best of both worlds?

Yeah, I did pay more probably. But I know that I bought quality, peace of mind and sheer ease of use. I have had macs since they came out and a couple of pc's too. I had the pc's because I had to have them for client work. My last one is now in the dung heap. Yea!

I never had a virus on any mac I ever owned or used. Ever. And I have never used virus protection. And that bull that someone wrote about them getting gummed up. Sorry, I've seen more pc's crash and burn at the slightest problem than ever a mac did. The ONLY problems I have ever had on a mac were a hard drive that crashed and a memory chip problem from memory bought through a third party. And that's in 19 years and 12 macs later.

I use to do software technical support for software that ran on both platforms. On a windows machine, registry hell, pure nightmare. On a mac, done, fixed, priceless. I can go and get work done on a mac AND not have to worry about having to dig around in the system trying to find the file that I just saved, where? Not have to worry about it not printing because of some strange flaw in the registry. Not have to worry about the blue screen of death. And to the person who wrote about people just needing to use their brain with a pc, on a mac I don't have to think, just do.

I just gave a an old blue imac from 1999 to a friend in financial straits. Wiped out the hard drive and installed Tiger. Works like a charm. Her pc from 1999? Has been repaired and repaired and repaired (wonder how much that cost her?). Barely starts up. I showed her some things on mac before she left with it. She was enthralled. As she was going out the door, I told her that if her brand new printer doesn't work with the mac that I want it back, thinking she wouldn't want to keep it at that point. "Hell, no," she said, "I'll just buy a new printer that works with the mac."
