Could terrorists use "World of Warcraft" to plan nefarious deeds?

Sure, but how likely is it, really?

WELL CLEARLY THE TERRORISTS ARE DOING JUST FINE WITH

cars bombs, shoulder launchers, human bombs, planes they manage to hi-jack, and a variety of other low-tech assault weapons.

Somehow I don't envision these guys sitting around a cave hooked up to Playstations and joysticks.

While 911 was considered a failure of imagination, it really was a failure of bloated bureaucratic organizations to read their faxes, force their employees to learn to use email, and talk to one another. Oh yeah, and a "feckless and naive" White House hell-bent on hating Clinton so much they refused to listen to anything told them about Al Qaida in January 2001.

Just figure out a way to secure the ports, track dangerous suspects without violating our civil liberties, build positive diplomatic relationships with as many countries as possible to route out cells, and REDUCE OUR NEED FOR FOREIGN OIL.

Who said anything about Islamic Fundamentalist terrorists?

I find it interesting that everybody immediately went to discussing why Islamic fundamentalist terrorists would or would not actually do this (Farivar even cites WoW's lack of Arabic as an argument against the theory). Dr. Toavs might have an entirely different profile of the terrorist organization which would use this scenario. I find it a little worrying that everybody seems so fixated on fighting Middle Eastern/Asian Islamic fundamentalist terrorists that another organization - even a home-grown American one - could walk right in the back door and blow us all to hell.

It's not like it hasn't happened before on a smaller scale.

What's a false-flag attack?

And why didn't that nice man who owned the WTC get to collect for TWO separate "terrorist" attacks on 9/11/01? There were two planes! It's a shame he didn't get to own the buildings very long, I'm sure he had a plan to remove all the asbestos from both WTC towers, even though that would have cost more to do than the buildings were worth...

I visualize a literal MOUNTAIN of evidence regarding 9/11/01 and two idiots are discussing "terrorists" while they stand in front of it...

Just hold this fuse; trust me

The bad guys in turbans don't need to do a thing. They don't need pilots or missiles or suitcase nukes or submarines or toxins or dull syringes to do us in. Usama has said he wants most to hurt our economy; they just have to wait another three months or so for Wall Street to finish imploding. Voila.
