Farewell

I can't believe no one has had a word to say about your departure.

Joe, I really enjoyed your contributions to this blog. In particular I appreciated your focus on actual technology (not just web sites) and the fact that you gave some modest attention to the Windows platform (not just to Macs).

I understand that finding the right angle and niche for Machinist must be a challenge for both the blogger and for Salon's editors, especially considering that there are a ton of sites devoted exclusively to technology and that the interests of Salon's readers are very broad. To me, at least, you found the right balance, and you had me regularly reading Machinist again, after having given up on it quite a while ago.

Thanks for everything and good luck!

Good-bye

Enjoyed your column and I hope that you enjoy your vacation.

So long, Joe

You've done a great job here. As far as I'm concerned, you brought just the right touch and just the right mix of articles. As Fer Servadu said, there are a ton of sights devoted exclusively to technology. Your two weeks made Machinist just right for what I expected the column to be when it started.

I'll miss you.

Enjoyed It

Enjoyed your entries. Any chance of you becoming the permanent Machinist blogger?
