"True Enough" at Google, and in San Francisco

A YouTubey presentation of my book.

.

Well, I don't know if it is sacrilege to mention the competitor or not, but good luck at Slate! Your presence will be missed here on these pages. I know it is fashionable to say that this place is going to the dogs, but now I'm starting wonder if it is actually true. As long as Greenwald keeps writing I'll keep reading. Him and Havrilesky.

Regarding Google, I saw the Randall Munroe (XKCD) talk Google hosted. That is a nerd's dream audience. It's hard to know where to go from there.

Don't Leave

Oh no! Say it ain't so.

Don't leave. Please. I absolutely despise Slate. It's so wrong in so many ways, but especially in the way that its decline precisely mirrors WaPo's decline. It feels old and stodgy and conservative, sort of like McCain.

It's a great book

Well worth reading in my opinion. I enjoyed reading it while trapped at a convention.

i probably shouldn't be asking this, but.....

is your successor an asian-american? just curious, since you were the "diversity" on salon (and that too, in the tech section).

Slate? Whu-?

Well, good luck, I guess. I can't say as I've always agreed with your opinions on things, but you've been fun to read here. Sadly, no way does Slate get my clickthrus. While I've no doubt you will increase the net worth of the site, I can't in good conscience offer my support, even in the form of a few Farhad page views, to such a toilet.

One more click in the Salon death watch. If King and Heather go, so too will I.

Good for you / Bad for me

Good luck in your new job; I am really going to miss your point of view and writing around here!! Hell, I'm still getting over the loss of Michelle Goldberg and I'm not entirely sure she was ever actually on staff. But whoever said that about hypothetical departure of Heather Havrilesky in comments here or the last post, bite your tongue or do whatever taking-it-back mojo necessary!! OK I read Broadsheet religiously too, but that's about it at this point. I'm actually really bumming about this, I had really become addicted to this column the last few months.

Anyway, thanks & best wishes!
