Craigslist scam "artists" caught!

A couple who posted a phony ad on Craigslist offering "free stuff" were really trying to cover up an earlier theft.

Shouldn't that read...

"And the internet is not inherently anonymous"? Presumably these miscreants could have pulled off The Perfect Crime if they had posted the Craigslist message via a gmail account set up through a proxy server, right?

At the very least they could have covered their tracks better...

They could have posted from the library or internet cafe. What morons. Well I guess that's why they got caught. Hmmm that gives me an idea, my neighbor has some really nice stuff.........

I find it pretty sad that the first two letters responding to this article are critical of the criminals only for being inept, but aren't critical in the least as to their lack of ethics/morals. So according to these letter-writers, a lack of understanding of how the internet works is a greater failing than a willingness to steal from others.
