Heh. What is it with MacBook Airs and reporters?
Steven Levy over at Newsweek wound up with his MacBook Air in the trash compactor because it was on the table with a bunch of newspapers and magazines--and his unknowing wife tossed the whole lot out...

A friend of mine swerved to miss a cat, hit a tree
Wound up in a coma for 5 days with 176 stitches in her face. But you know, the stray furry appears to have survived. I really don't understand why people do that.

Yeah I can relate
Saving the MacBook was a much better story than "taking a spill." He should've gone with it on the air and maybe gotten an endorsement deal out of it. I'd probably have done the same.

I've done more or less the same thing -- not because I was afraid that I'd mar the lovely matte finish on my macbook, but because I'm an academic, and I have so. much. work. on that baby I'd be seriously unhappy if I messed it up. And yes -- I *do* back up, but the protective instinct takes over. I almost broke my arm!

What if she had a family that needed her and now was SOL. Aren't people at least on par with animals? We don't have to elevate people over animals but a little parity wouldn't hurt.

Charlie is as human as any of us. He most likely offended someone, even unkowingly, but nevertheless the black eye ensued.
Just tell the truth... unless litigation is under way or the MOB is behind this.
Repeatedly celebrities try to fool the public. This is nothing other than that. Come clean.

I was just surfing the TV and notice that somebody kicked the crap out of this guy. Then I watched and realized that this show was a publicly funded left-wing gripe fest.
NPR and PBS should be turned off and let the free market rule. I hope Charlie gets better.

Get Well Charlie
The PBS station in Austin is doing its quarterly campaign drive. So one of the first things to go is regular programming. Monday's show was not televised so I didn't know what had happened.
Get well soon Charlie.
P. S. Just think of the attaboys you would have received if you were the "guest coach" for Duke and had been showing one of the players your patented move.
