Saving the MacBook was a much better story than "taking a spill." He should've gone with it on the air and maybe gotten an endorsement deal out of it. I'd probably have done the same.

I've done more or less the same thing -- not because I was afraid that I'd mar the lovely matte finish on my macbook, but because I'm an academic, and I have so. much. work. on that baby I'd be seriously unhappy if I messed it up. And yes -- I *do* back up, but the protective instinct takes over. I almost broke my arm!

I was just surfing the TV and notice that somebody kicked the crap out of this guy. Then I watched and realized that this show was a publicly funded left-wing gripe fest.

NPR and PBS should be turned off and let the free market rule. I hope Charlie gets better.

The PBS station in Austin is doing its quarterly campaign drive. So one of the first things to go is regular programming. Monday's show was not televised so I didn't know what had happened.
