I wonder if anyone else finds it curious that in a city of 8,214,426 people, an assembly voting district could have a vote total in the neighborhood of 240. If everyone voted, that would require 34,226 assembly voting districts for New York City alone. Assuming half the population is younger than voting age, the number of voting districts would be 17,113. Discounting further for voter turnout, there would still need to be at least 5,000 voting districts to make sense of the low vote totals for this one district.
More people by far vote at my polling place, and it is in one of the smaller districts in the city where I live, Madison, Wisconsin.
Vote fraud is as "American" as apple pie. It doesn't take a lot of skill to count votes properly, so a pattern of zero votes for a candidate can safely be seen as fraudulent. The mere fact that someone would unquestioningly turn in such totals is ample proof.
But the greater question for me is what the total number of voters was in the primary, with "districts" of 240 voters in the largest city in "America."
re: "The Smell of Clinton
Voting irregularities."
Give it up. Nobody is falling for it. HIllary doesn't steal elections. She wins them.
Don't worry Slackie, I'm sure we'll hear the "We were robbed" comments from Obama supporters once the Superdelegates vote...Last I checked the folks in the Democratic party knew Michigan and Florida wouldn't be seated but they also knew that Superdelegates could potentially elect the next Democratice representative...Once again, you can't have it both ways...
There are no ‘shifting numbers.’ There was no snafu. The correct numbers simply weren’t reported to the media as quickly as they would have wanted: that’s why the NY Times has a beef and that’s why it’s only a regional story.
"Voting irregularities don't just work in one direction."
Name one democrat who felt that way in November, 2000.
Could those states with a huge black majority have diddled with the voting machines in Obama's favor?
Voting irregularities don't just work in one direction.
Voting irregularities.
Special rules for me, billary.
This fiasco smells like clinton at its stinkiest.
Strange?
Or maybe the election results were flawed, in a fairly obvious manner.
Maybe the FL and MI vote issue was decided on and agreed upon before the race even started.
Now I know you Hillbots seem to think that rules are for other people, and that Hillary Clinton should get by because well, she is a Clinton and has functional tear ducts, but the rest of us kind of take the rules a bit more seriously than that.
If the machines also recorded zero votes for Clinton, it's hard to see how Obama would gain delegates. Really, if anyone wants to talk about rigging the election, why don't we start with the fact that it appears journalists and pundits in the mainstream media are all working off the daily Obama talking points? Most seem to be paid to advance his candidacy rather than simply report the news. Also suspect is the fact that Obama's speechwriter is the brother of a Fox News Channel VP. Rather than being the agent of change, he appears to be the agent of the Wall Street dominated media. What an amazing swindle this has been. The G.O.P. is supporting him with massive crossover voting campaigns that get Republicans to vote in the Democratic primaries and make sure Hillary Clinton loses. He won all the red states this way. Obviously, these folks will switch back in the fall, so isn't this another case of vote rigging? For more on the strategy and connections between Obama and the G.O.P, see the article I've posted at http://www.thecityedition.com/Pages/Archive/Winter08/2008Election.html.
This article is about a serious flaw in the election in New York. These flaws mostly favored Clinton, but there were a few places where it happened to her. This is a problem and it needs to be addressed to make sure it doesn't happen again. No one is claiming corruption, but the problem needs to be talked about.
The audit did not happen because someone wanted to get more votes for Obama. It is part of the standard election practice. The election night totals are NOT the official counts. These audits are ALWAYS done. The audits, not Mr. Manjoo or Obama backers, are turning up votes for Obama.
Florida and Michigan are a completely different story. They were told well in advance what would happen if they scheduled their primaries early. They did it anyway. If you have a problem with it, take it up with the governments of Florida and Michigan. One of the Clinton "count all the votes" campaign managers voted last year to strip these states of their delegates.
The elections were not valid. The people knew that the vote was just make-believe going in, so you can't claim that it is an accurate representation. I wouldn't have gone to vote knowing it wouldn't be counted. 40% of democratic votes in MI showed up JUST TO VOTE AGAINST Clinton in a meaningless election. It would be ludicrous to give her those delegates.
The DNC has offered to hold caucuses (since the states won't pay to have legitimate primaries) in both states so that democrats there can have their say. But those wouldn't unfairly favor Clinton, so they are unacceptable to the Clintons.
Then there are Hillary's slimeball FL and MI tactics. She was the only major democrat classless and valueless enough to leave her name on the MI ballot (knowing full well that she would argue for those delegates if need be). She campaigned in Florida without "campaigning in FL", through fund-raisers, pre-election promises that if SHE won, she would get the delegates seated (assuring that pro-Hillary voters went out, while others stayed home because it was pointless to vote), and held a "victory rally" in Florida the night of the election. That sounds a lot like campaigning in FL to me, but I thought getting Lewinskied counted as sexual relations, so what do I know.
