It's the physicality, stupid..
I, like most people, want to feel like I'm getting something for the money I spend. Something tangible, that I can feel and smell (I love the smell of a freshly opened CD insert, yeah it's stupid), not just hear.
DRM makes the choice even easier. CDs I bought in 1987 still sound exactly as they did on the purchasing date, and I never have to verify a password or worry about backing up the MP3s. At 92+ GBs, backing up would be quite expensive anyway.
Also, my CD collection is insurable. Try convincing an insurance company to reimburse you for all your MP3s after a fire; they'll only give you enough money to replace the computer hardware, not the hundreds (in my case, thousands) of dollars to replace your digital music "collection".
