That you think people who work at In Touch are reporters. Pretty much anything written in gossip rags should be taken with a grain of salt because it's all gossip, gossip is usually untrue, or only partially true and twisted much the same way the telephone game can change I like dogs to I eat hogs.

Activities in chat rooms (text) are used in courts to arrest potential pedophiles and convict them.
Email (text) is admissible evidence in courts, and reporters are continually requesting email and Blackberry records from the White House using the Freedom of Information Act. Corporations don't get off either as electronic text was used to judge the guilt of Enron execs.
Web sites are regularly sued for violating copyrights (text).
Farhad, tell us again why you think text messages represent a "departure from standard norms of reporting." I think this one has "flown the coop" already.
