    I'm missing something...

If I open my PC up and add or subtract a part that then affects the performance of the PC, does the PC manufacturer have to repair it under their warranty? If I install 3rd party software on my PC that negatively effects its operation do I get to complain about the PC manufacturer and ask them to adapt their updates to fit my custom system? How is Apple’s approach any different?
