Alberto Gonzales' Net-porn advice: Be graphic

The attorney general wants the cops to describe child porn in vivid detail.

Still, People Probably Should Know...

Americans over (maybe) age forty remember when video porn was grainy black-and-white film involving ugly guys wearing black socks and fat ladies from some farm somewhere.

My bachelor pal pointed out a free porn web site to me a couple years ago. It definitely is NOT like the old days. Now, they have many really attractive young women doing it like crazy!

The point is: Porn no longer is just obvious losers doing embarrassed stunts. I have not seen the defecation Secretary Gonzales speaks of, and I have not seen any child porn...

But it is a revelation to see pretty young women doing it. I will NOT give you the website address, because you will want to look at it too often. But, Americans, please be aware. It is not a good situation. And it is not at all like what you grew up with. It is much worse.

Ahem

I believe AG's recommendations would amount to what is known as "exploitation".

I'm not surprised...

My general rule of thumb: if a Republican is against something in public, he secretly enjoys it in private. Furthermore, their lurid fantasies will sometimes Freudian slip out as they condemn it in public. Which is, of course, why they like to talk about it in the first place.

Remember in Junior High School when you could tell that your friend had a crush because he'd keep bringing her up in conversation, just to say her name or hear you say it? Republican politicians have never moved on to the next step of self-awareness.

Blatant politics

Mr. Gonzales request to "be graphic" in describing crimes against children would indeed be justified if it was necessary to increase public awareness or opposition to these heinous crimes. Is it? Are there any non-pedophiles out there who support crimes against children? Is there ANYONE, ANYWHERE that doesn't see these crimes as among the most serious and fully support making child exploitation a priority for law enforcement?

I don't doubt Mr. Gonzales passion for prosecuting these crimes or protecting children. But the reason he wants to "go graphic" has nothing to do with either. I believe that by shouting "pedophiles!" he hopes to accomplish what his boss does from shouting "terrorism!" That's a kind of child exploitation too, isn't it?

Oh, the sweat

I didn't see any video clips of Gonzolez' speech, but I can vividly imagine the beads of sweat appearing on his hairline when he said "dads having sex with their young daughters, oral sex, defecation." And I can imagine the consternation of the Saturday Night Live writers at being given this gift during the off-season.

Okay, You Guys Have A Point About Oral Sex....

That silly ding-dong Gonzales spoke of "defecation," and incest in the same breath as oral sex. Yikes, I think. (?) Reassure me, please, America.

Is oral sex okay? Is it part of the regular married Sextathon? Or do the fundamentalists not allow it?

In my house, we allow it. And we like it. Are we wrong? Has Tio Alberto Gonzales never had a hum-job? Has he never given a hum-job? Are suck-offs and lick-outs not allowed in NeoCon America???

Yee-oww! Say it ain't so!

Here, Graphic is Appropriate

They're fighting something the average person doesn't know. People defending the rights of children to not be abused run into enough interference from society as it is. By making sure everyone understands what some people do to kids, it becomes easier to build support for anti-abuse measures.

If you don't like what you hear from law enforcement, then you need to do more to help stop abuse. Don't ask them to be quiet.

BTW, he's talking about ORAL SEX AS INCEST.

It's oral sex with your child. It's oral sex with a fourteen year old girl. A ten year old boy. A toddler.

Gross, yes? But what he's describing is even misunderstood by the readers of the column, as did timbuktom in his comments.

People don't always understand what's happening and what should be done about it.

abberant behavior as sin or sickness.

Consistent with our leaderships current state of understanding about the science involved in any issue, the AG's perspective is one that sees abberant sexual behavior as a kind of moral decay; in short, a sin.

Make no mistake, some sexual behaviors are so abhorrent to us that across all cultural boundaries they are reviled and despised...but then again, there are others for which our sexual instincts and highly socialized primate brains are able to integrate into normal functioning members of our society. But the troublesome behaviors as defined by law and recognized by their crossing boundaries that we have both as a result of instinct and cultural influences exist. Where does this behavior come from? Recent research indicates an organic source, such as brain damage, or chemical imbalance, possibly controlled by one genes and ones environment. If we continue to deal with abberant sexual behvavior as sin, relegating it to the dark recesses where we administer punitive torture, we'll be very slow to realize the truth of how this behavior arises and more importantly, how to begin the task of eliminating it.

Yes, he does

I think he does have to drag us by the ears. AFter all, we don't seem to be doing much about child porn otherwise.

@mann43212

I don't know about you, but I don't need graphic details in order to know that screwing kids is wrong and justifiably illegal. Isn't the general concept creepy enough for you? Everybody I know draws the line at the very idea; hearing lip-smacking details about oral sex and defecation is only necessary for those that get off on it. Which, as many have and continue to suspect, is the real underlying motive for all the interest these supposedly godly and Serious lawmakers show in the lurid peccadilloes of twisted minds.

In this respect, child porn is the same as murder and arson and other heinous crimes: all that is necessary is to know that it's wrong and why it's wrong. I for one do not require the exact details of just how the killer disemboweled his victims, and I take an extremely jaundiced view of anybody who claims to "need" that knowledge outside of a courtroom. The day I get called to a jury I'll listen to such trash. Until then, just the concept will do, thank you very much.
