I haven't noticed any of the flaws/bugs listed on that site. I keep hearing about crashes, but I haven't had one yet. The only thing I noticed that annoyed me was that after playing a video, a prompt always asks if you want to delete it to save space. If you're watching lots of short clips, this becomes tedious. Other than that, it still blows away all of my past phones.
Besides, if you go to the link and see what they call a "bug", you'll see it's not. For instance:
"The phone vibrates when switched to silent mode (the Ring/Silent switch is located on the side of the iPhone), but does not provide audible feedback when exiting silent mode."
That isn't a bug. They just didn't design the phone to beep when switched back. The tactile feedback and the screen telling you it's switched back is enough. Either way, Farhad has to post "There are 68 iPhone bugs"...the iPhone bashing is getting tiresome, Manjoo. Why don't you compare this phone to the ones Nokia, Motorola and Palm put out? I had a Treo that would crash even when I wasn't performing a function, blocking incoming calls. My $600 Unlocked Nokia N80 was painfully slow and absurdly unintuitive.
Hate the game, not the player.
Apple made a revolutionary device and, yes, that has made the Microsoft worshippers insane with rage.
Their team lost.
We get the iPhone and they got a Zune and (sigh) Vista. I'd be pissed too if I were a Microsoft ditto head.
Instead of spending countless hours trying to "prove" the iPhone somehow really sucks and we just don't realize it -- why don't they start a letter writing campaign to Microsoft demanding that they come up with better products instead?
Why is little tiny Apple kicking the crap out of multi-multi BILLION dollar Microsoft?
Because Apple creates quality products whereas Microsoft simply creates quantity. There is more innovation and brilliance in one iPhone that in a Zune, a Blackberry and a PocketPC put together.
The most advanced phone in the world, and it won't even let you play whatever ring tones you want? I'm not a huge techie, but this sounds pretty basic, right? What the hell good is it if you can't even select your own stuff. Apple really dropped the ball here.
