Iphone observations
This phone looks so much better than anything I've seen in the cell phone market that I want one, but I don't NEED one, so I'll wait a couple years to let the early adopters get their economic fleecing before making the move.
Total cost of ownership for this phone (with the service plan) is likely more than I wish to pay, but there are plenty of folks willing to shell out whatever it takes to have one. This is my strategy on almost all new tech. I just bought my first Ipod (video btw) last year and matched it to the first Mac (mini) I ever owned. I've been very pleased with the Mac, notwithstanding the slight loss in initial usability/productivity from my lack of familiarity with the O/S. I'm kicking myself now for not having 'made the switch' a couple years earlier when my techie coworker friends were all getting them.
I have total faith that even this first gen phone will have few problems given Apple's experience (and market domination) of the audio player market.
Enjoy.
