@Vinnethepathetic

Hillary would have been annihilated by the press - Bill BJ's would never have made it off the front page. I used to be a big Clinton fan - til I saw how they blew the opportunity of a lifetime to make a real change in this country.

Hillary is about Hillary, Bill is the greatest political speaker of our age and he hasn't done shit for the current Democratic nominee.

Put them to bed with a shovel.

A Centrist Democrat

It's okay to be a Centrist Democrat so we can get the votes of big business to elect our Progressive candidate. It's okay to be black so you can get the black vote. It's okay to be elite or not be elite to get the elite vote or the Joe Sixpack vote.

Don't you understand that politicians lie to get elected?

Mr. I'llbewhateveryouwant has hornswoggled half a country. Why not? Bush did it twice, and he's not even eloquent.

Just imagine - if the DNC hadn't torpedoed Hillary's campaign we wouldn't be looking at Sarah Palin every day wondering how she got on a ticket. We also would have known in the beginning that our candidate would be a Centrist Democrat even after the election.

Wonder what Obama will be after he's elected.

@Roman Berry

Sorry, it's still not working for me. You're going to have to do better to get me to vote for McCain and with the current polls reflecting Obama, I'm not the only one who thinks so either. Wow, people who like him give him money. Like that's unheard of.

The compromises Obama made

Obama has run a brilliant campaign. He has placed himself firmly in the center of American politics on virtually all issues, and built alliances with enough of the power brokers to make them comfortable with him being President.

I certainly can understand progressives being upset about some of his policy positions and ties to the business world. There are many positions on which I disagree with Obama, starting with FISA. However, if the alternative is McCain/Palin -- or any Republican -- the choice is easy. In 2000 many argued that there was essentially no difference between the two candidates, and when Bush "won" many argued that he could accomplish little with the divided Congress. But we know how that turned out.

The truth is that the saner people in the business world are nearly as appalled at the Bush years as are progressives. They see McCain as what he is, and are flabbergasted at Palin. They are willing to support a centrist Democrat, and will enthusiastically support one with outstanding leadership and management skills. This is why they supported Obama in the primaries, and why they are supporting him now.

Syphax, it's mutual

Did you see me say anything good about John McCain? Did I even mention him? That's right. I did not. So why did you? Just dim? Caught up in the Cult of No Change? What?

Regardless, you ought to compare lists. Tell me which candidate got more money from these companies? Tell me which candidate has fricking Goldman Sachs at the top of the list?

OpenSecrets.org top contributors to Obama with amounts:

Goldman Sachs $739,521

University of California $697,506

Harvard University $501,489

Citigroup Inc $492,548

Google Inc $487,355

JPMorgan Chase & Co $475,112

National Amusements Inc $432,169

Microsoft Corp $429,656

UBS AG $419,550

Lehman Brothers $391,774

Wilmerhale Llp $383,024

Time Warner $375,063

Sidley Austin LLP $370,916

Skadden, Arps et al $360,409

Stanford University $341,399

Morgan Stanley $341,380

Latham & Watkins $328,879

Jones Day $309,960

University of Chicago $294,237

General Electric $290,58490,584

You really think there is some huge difference between the clowns at the top of the tickets this year? There isn't. Obama helped Bush get his FISA, effectively gutting the 4th amendment and immunizing the Bush admin felons. And he sure as heck came running when Goldman Sachs called on this bogus (and it is bogus) bailout bill.

Sorry, but if you believe in this guy (or the other guy for that matter), you're just none too bright.

Next!

Thanks for the endorsement Hugh, but...

you're still going to burn in hell for all eternity for moving the headquarters of Bank of America from San Francisco to Charlotte in 1998. Charlotte!

When you did this, A.P. Giannini spun in his grave. And that we cannot forgive.

Wow

That's gotta hurt McCain....especially with NC in play now for Obama. I have my fingers and my toes crossed.

The endorsement of a megabanker is a good thing?

Please, this is an endorsement by one of the same class of people that has bought and paid for Obama. Take a look at OpenSecrets.Org. Obama's top donor is Goldman Sachs! And in case you haven't noticed, Obama himself claims even to this day on his own web site that we owe everything to the power of free markets. He also said in his interview with Chris Wallace on Faux Newz that one of the things that Republicans got right was deregulation.

Obama is change? No, he's just the new boss. Same as the old boss. Screw that.
