Indonesia Halted Wheat Exports Today

Indonesia is one of the biggest wheat exporters in the world and halted exports of wheat today. This action resulted in another spike in wheat prices. Another big wheat producer, Kazakhstan, halted wheat exports last week. Is this the 21st Century version of the Smoot-Hawley Act?

Indonesia has halted rice exports. You are right about the rust, Desigirl. When I was a kid growing up on a farm in Minnesota, we had to stop growing wheat because of rust.
