  • Lettuce See The Irony In This

I think that if people ate more unmodified lettuce, there would be less diabetes to start with.

  • Except for those people

Who do eat a salad everyday, but also drown that lettuce in beef, chicken, cheese, and heavy creamy salad dressings. Then go on to consume high fat, sugary foods and then never or rarely excersize.

I think if you are already diabetic, a pill that releases insulin gradually would be a benefit to them.

  • but with the 100 mi diet

you will have lettuce (and other leafy greens) for only 3-5 weeks out the year. how do you eat a healthy diet when 10 months of the year your only source of 100 mi food is preserved food?

  • STRANGE, I'VE HEARD THAT NAME BEFORE.....

Henry Daniell? Why, that's the SAME NAME as the famed Hollywood character actor of films in the 30s', 40s', 50s' and 60s'! Many films had the good fortune of the thespian talents of British-born Mr. Daniell fix his gimlet eye, frown his rat-trap mouth and skewer the hapless onlooker with his supercilious stare and cold reptilian malice in such classics as CAMILLE, THE BODY SNATCHER, JANE EYRE, THE SEA HAWK, THE WOMAN IN GREEN, THE FOUR SKULLS OF JONATHAN DRAKE! Now we have a Henry Daniell who is an INSULIN-LETTUCE EXPERT? OY VAY, OY GEVALT! WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO? As a Type-Two Diabetic for over 40 years now, I am VERY DELIGHTED with having insulin in lettuce form for TASTY and CONVENIENT INGESTION, as I do love sandwiches made with lots of lettuce and tomatoes! But as Andrew Leonard has so cannily pointed out, eating healthy improves your diabetes more than a QUICK FIX like insulined lettuce. But it is a HANDY and WORTHWHILE thing to have around, IF THE PRICE TURNS OUT TO BE VIABLE for us RETIREES!!!!!
