Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.
Not with Intel's rather large and critical investment in Israel.
The MSNBC morning crew (Joe in the Morning) also played the clip and had a good time mocking them. David Schuster particularly enjoyed it. Joe S. wasn't there this morning.
Back in the days of dinosaurs (you know, print) editors did something called fact-checking before putting anything out. I noticed quite some time ago that modern TV reporters will say whatever goes in their ear, even if they do not know if it is true. Hell, even if they don't understand what they are saying.
This is a major sea change in journalism. There was once a time when even TV personalities considered themselves journalists and would never report anything on TV without confirmation.
Those days are long gone.
This kind of journalism is why watch PBS News Hour and Business Report. I find it incredible the number of "no nothing" journalists on TV these days. No investigative reporting, just bring in "so-called" experts" . Many journalist, (but are they journalist?) lack basic historical knowledge. Fox has the worse line up of people on all their network. From 'Opinions" presented as news; comics presenting comedy as news; and anchors lacking the knowledge proper grammar.
If the Congress would bring back the 'Fairness ans Accuracy in the Media" law, and limit market area consolidation, it might help to stem this dumbing down, and misinformation networks.
However we have a generation of under-educated, who actually think they are smart.
Salon thought they had a funny haha smart moment today. They are
talking about the Fox Business News channel which sadly they can't
get in Berkeley. Now once my sister who was interning in Atlanta
for CNN one Summer was mugged by two guys at the ghetto ass place
Ted Turner's cheap ass put her up in, I no longer watched CNN or
Headline News. Sorry, but that is unacceptably cheap, and a sign of
a company that is doomed. Well by the ratings that incident
foretold by a few years what CNN would become. Second rate, which
is what happens when you treat your workers second rate ala Dell.
Anyway, back on subject. News came in that Apple had bought a
percentage of AMD. Ok, actually it was Abu Dhabi. Sure, but Mr.
Andrew Leonard whom I'm sure works on the fly with a teleprompter,
and producer in his ear as he types his half ass attempt at a blog,
while in Berkeley just miles away from headquarters of AMD and
Apple and Intel doesn't have a clue. He says well, Apple wouldn't
buy part of AMD. They are Intel only.
He forgets the news we broke several years ago here at AMDZone (at
E3 back in the GOD Promised Lot, oh how we miss it) that Apple was
using AMD's HyperTransport interconnect chipset in their new G5
which uses IBM's Power. I guess Mr. Leonard also forgot that AMD
bought ATI, and low in behold oh my lazy reporting god, Apple
offers AMD Radeon graphics solutions in their computers including
the overpriced Mac Pro here with the ridiculously out of date
Radeon X1900 XT. What a rip off. Enjoy typing on your Mac with your
teleprompter and producer and not knowing what PC components are
inside of it. Austin 1 Berkeley 0. Does CNN have a business
channel? Was Salon last relevant back in 1999? No. Yes.
Why are you so incoherent? Was there supposed to be a point in there? Or even more than one (often, people making more than one point, with supporting statements, will choose to put each point in its own paragraph).
A
Is that kooky, nasty post about AMD (above) what the rest of the blogging world is like? Yikes! Why does that guy believe he needs to write that way? We are not used to that here in HTWW. I hope we will not have to start writing that way.
Or don't post at all. If you can point out where I'm wrong then do so. It looks like you can't. It is not my fault that I unlike the author knows what I'm talking about. I don't blog. I have a real site that is in its 10th year. If you can't set up your own server, and CMS, and host it, then well, I feel sorry for you. Certainly if you can not then you probably aren't qualified to write about the computer technology industry.
Incoherent? I'm simply establishing first hand knowledge of how the cable news networks can be, and poking fun at the liberal Berkeley writer, and how fast he is to criticize when he himself has made a massive mistake in his story thanks to not doing research. Funnily enough the previous posters lampoon Fox for it while they themselves don't know how flawed the story they are commenting on is. Can you wrap your head around that one? Irrelevant. What your comment was.
...I'm laughing at them.
Can you wrap your head around that one?
Irrelevant
What your comment was.
Sorry dude, that was a very incoherent post. I'm re-reading it and trying to get your point...but it's just not there.
And your comments about have a website for ten years sounds like you have might have a touch of Napoleon complex. Being an AMD fanboy that is understandable.
