The wall around America that McCain was referring to was not the border wall and I believe you know that. After that statement you belong in 1984.
Remember during the last pre-election when in Virginia Bush had his Swift Boat team come up with a false story about Mccain having a foreign child or something of that sort. At that point in his career he did not attack Bush for this false story, that stupid move ended any hope for him to ever be elected President. Instead after the Bush lie he jumped in and supported Bush's fake WAR and has held that position ever since. Must have been that he spent too many years as a prisoner and lost his fight against the Worst President ever in American history!
He made some comments posted on beliefnet.org about not being in favor of a Muslim for president. He said, "I like the Islam, but....." And then he got all befuddled about being a Christian nation, or a Judeo-Christian nation, and him being an Episcopalian or a Baptist, or baptized or not baptized. He said he'd ask his pastor and get back to us on that.
It's a terrific idea for McCain to have made this declaration because he has a high profile, attracts media attention, is going to lose anyway so it doesn't matter if he doesn't just touch the new third rail but plants himself firmly on the third rail of America's religious ignorance and biases.
It's time America gets some education and has a conversation about the profound differences between Judeo and Christian, and stops assuming they know all that is important to know when they can say
Islam=Sunni+Shiite,
Jewish=Ten Commandments+Holocaust,
Christian=Ten Commandments+Jesus/Martin Luther X Jerry Falwell
If John McCain's otherwise STUPID declaration that "he likes the Islam but wouldn't want a Islam to be president" can stimulate that conversation, then, and only then, will his statement have redeeming social value.
"The man makes no sense."
IS unbalanced?
