How sad! I worked at the Santa Clara offices of 3Com from 1995-1996 as the editor of their Price List publications, both domestic and overseas. I only quit because at that time they were acquiring new items faster than a nekkid lady draws stares at a construction site. Unbelievable! I couldn't handle the quarterly project any more on my own and they wouldn't hire me an assistant. I couldn't complain about the wage: 3Com was the first company to pay me what I was worth. But that aside, 3Com was a wonderful company to work for then and the corporate campus was gorgeous compared to others. I was a Silicon Valley Brat. I'd worked for all of the big ones, including Intel right out of college, and I loved 3Com best. The marketing publications team was crammed full o' dynamic, hilarious go-getters who only missed a beat to hear the OJ trial verdict. I'm still friends with some of them.
R.I.P., 3Com Corporation. I'll always remember you fondly.
