    He had a distinct and important point of view.

    Who will fill his shoes? I can't think of anyone who thinks as far outside the box as Kurt Vonnegut did. We need someone like that, now more than ever.

    I'm almost surprised how sad I am at his passing. Usually when I hear someone famous had passed away I think "well, they led a good life", or some such thing. I rarely get sad.

    But Kurt? Whenever I heard the latest crazy story from the world stage I had always imagined that he was out there somewhere turning up an eyebrow, and that gave me comfort. He represented that off-beat, penetrating, and truthful point of view.

    And I am deeply saddened that he's gone.

    Aw, Kurt... here's to ya...
