a great way to meet neighbors too!

You really don't know your neighbors until you've seen several hundred of them in various states of undress touting bags of refuse, bags of recycling and chasing that one lady who will take - for free - the stuff that the recycling men always insist on charging waiguo ren extra for. Thanks for bringing back such fond memmories. I remember them mostly as frantic "Put down the bong and run outside" moments. Beethoven immortalized? Trash, undoubtably will continue to be a huge problem for that island-nation. Remember when there was rumor of banning plastic bags or something!? Still have one or two of those pink and white stripped suckers as a keepsake.

never would've thought

That I would someday read an article mentioning the use of Fur Elise for trash pick up in Taiwan. That brought back the memories of my childhood in Taipei... good to know that they are adding biodiesel considerations!
