Well I probably can't legally spell Bizzaro[sic] correctly since this post does eminate from the good old US of A, but I will flatter that Supermann [sic] character in this post.
The U.S. economic elite may tout free markets and how important they are for capitalism and wealth and all of that hooey, but we constantly see that
a. The U.S. Markets just ain't free and
b. that the Chinese just may fully understand what the term laissez-faire means.
What this comes down to, as you hinted, is plain in simple that the U.S. is losing it's economic hutzpah. We don't have an elasticity because companies are always suing each other over IP. No more free market capitalism here anymore, dealing with a free market is just too bizzare for us these days.
But wait aren't they the Communists? Not in the world of Bizzaro [sic] capitalism.
