...the Bionic Men?
at a lot of the games yesterday, and it seems to me this might be a year where almost any team that makes the sweet 16 could win it all. I can't read anything into 1 vs 16, I don't know why they even schedule those games. The 2s and 3s and even 4s generally give a lot more indication as to how the tournament will progress, and from what I saw on day 1 it should be a pretty good year for competition from the non-number-ones. Let the madness continue!
For the record, I picked the Washington Huskies in my bracket, on the theory that, given a choice of 64 teams, most gamblers are usually wrong about everything.
Of course that would make me wrong too I guess.
“Marquette was expected to struggle…a dismal 1-5 since James broke his foot…”
Well, okay, but I’m not really sure that 1-5 streak was any predictor of a struggle for them, except to the extent that they ‘struggle’ against top teams in the country, which is pretty much true of everybody. The five losses:
#11 ‘Nova by 1
#13 ‘Cuse in OT
#4 Pitt on the road
#1 Louisville on the road (by 4)
#5 Uconn
Does that say anything other than they, a 6 seed, might have a tough time against 3 seed Missouri in the second round? That would not be a surprise.
Hoping against hope that my alma mater, NDSU, can pull off the upset vs. Kansas.
NDSU is actually a good place to get a reasonably priced college education in a nice town (Fargo). You just have to accept some -20F days in December, January, February, and sometimes March.
Only 3 pts down with 11 minutes to go!
... that your fans like you in large doses like this, and they should let you do your Important Work without petty distractions.
The Blackhawks blew yet ANOTHER game last night.
The Sox and Flubs play on CSNC this afternoon.
The WBC will play again today.
So much for the important and exciting sports.
Is this "day 2" thing about soccer where you bounce a ball??
