One of the things we've noticed in DC area is that you only get so much of a boost from a new stadium (or a shining beacon of a stadium just north of here in Baltimore). You really need a winning team to help draw those people into these nice new palaces of baseball. Apparently you can only ride the wave of wide concourses, better sightlines, decent concessions, kiddie play areas, and local character before fans realize that they might actually want to see some good baseball from the home team.
