Jeff Kent going on the DL was almost as good for the Dodgers as Manny arriving and getting hot.
Kent was probably the real "locker room poison" back in his days with the Giants...and we have recent Dodger history to at least give that notion some credence.
"Mr. Ramirez, do you think your compensation, in light of your performance, was fair?"
Shouldn't there be some kind of windfall profits tax on ballplayers whose clubs fail?
How about actors? How many millions has Brad Pitt made on total clunkers?
We simply have no adequate oversight for Tim Robbins, Alec Baldwin, Steven Speilberg or Barbra Streisand.
I propose a civilian board to oversee compensation at DreamWorks, MiraMax, the LA Lakers, and especially the LA Clippers. What benefits have the Clippers produced for their fans and for shareholders?
As a Phillies fan, I just want to say 'thanks' for picking the Dodgers. Any regular K.K. reader will know of your prognostication skills (or lack thereof).
Just messing with you, King. Keep up the great work!
They've been relying too much on the long ball. But stranding runners is just the Philly way.
The Phillies have a lot of speed and a great first base coach in Davey Lopes. And don't forget about Greg Dobbs off the bench.
If Utley and Howard come around they're going to the World Series. And Pat Burrell is swinging a hot bat right now, don't forget. He won game 4 of the NLDS for them.
Myers is a question mark, but the bullpen can put out the fire if he brings a gas can out to the mound.
And we have Mitchie-poo to break it all down on Post Game Live...mwahahahahahahaha!!!
