Arwasio UPDATE brought to you by yours truly! Since there is no hockey coverage to be found on this site anymore, I hereby provide one, free of charge.
Thanks goodness you came along! Until you posted, there was no way for anyone to find any information about the hockey playoffs online!
Debaser I also smell a bit of race-based condescension with this argument only applying to basketball players, after all hockey players in Canada leave home at 15 to play in major junior, get the bare minimum of a high school education then move on to the minors (if drafted) at 18 or 19, but we don't hear much wailing or gnashing of teeth about them and their educations now do we?
Mm-hmmm. Tennis players too.
But I guess one should also keep in mind that the Beasley situation is by far a minority one. I mean there are what, 60 players from around the world that are drafted? If you're going to declare early eligibility then you better be damn sure you'll be drafted.
Oh absolutely! Screwing up this decision could be disastrous. Just because it's a no-brainer for Beasley and Rose, and because they should be free to do it, doesn't mean it's the right decision for everyone. Each player -- excuse me, each student-athlete -- has to make the decision based on his own circumstances. Or her own. For the vast majority of playe -- er, athlastudents -- the right decision is to stay in school, just like it is for the vast majority of everybody else.

Only 60 Get Drafted In The NBA
But there is foreign ball and the NBA developmental league.

If we are humoring Dick Vitale...
...then we're also humoring you, King. This dead animal you bring out every year during declarin' time once resembled a horse. Now its just a lump of rotting flesh. We get it, dude.
I like the burying a Clemens jersey idea. I like the idea of burying Clemens even more. Talk about half-assed!!

No playoff hockey, King Kaufman?
I just had to let you know that somebody was missing your albeit clumsy coverage...
Article idea #1:
Goals counted or disallowed after video reviews of whether net came off its mooring [Conspiracy within NHL video review war room in Toronto?]
-Jerome Iginla of Calgary knocked the net up in Game 1 charging at crease as puck crossed line and the goal still counted
-Nashville scored on rebound live on NBC at Detroit in Game 2 and goal was quickly disallowed (fear of losing national TV audience over long review?) when it appeared that the net was not bumped until after puck crossed line
...I guess I should ask Barry Melrose because I thought the net couldn't even be lifted, let alone off its moorings, for a goal to count.
Article idea #2:
Sean Avery's poor sportsmanship in Game 3 (waving arms/stick in front of Brodeur's face to screen goalie) caused immediate amending of NHL rule book -- one player who doesn't care about being classy.

You used to cover the NHL. Most sports columnists do. I'm just sayin'.
