Dock Ellis?
I seem to remember reading that it was the legendary Dock Ellis (he of the "no-hitter on acid" fame) coined the phrase "no-no" and that apparently while he was throwing that infamous no hitter would be talking with his teammates in the dugout saying things like "hey man, I got a no-no going!" and apparently scaring the living bejeebus out of his team mates.
Love that Dock Ellis...
(does anybody know of any good biographies on him?)
