  • Well, sure, Knight was fine

    I don't think King (or many at all) ever made the case that Bobby Knight wasn't a smart basketball man with actual opinions, some of which are even interesting. No, the point was that he's a bullying, brutal, arrogant jackass and hypocrite. That he didn't display his deep character flaws on Sports Center is hardly surprising. He was sitting in the collegial atmosphere of ESPN studios across from Digger Phelps (who practically blew him on the spot) and some guy with Devo hair.
