  • Red Leg (and hockey)

    Hey Red Leg,

Nice to see Halladay getting some notice outside Toronto! Your comment about his low strikeout totals is a bit off-centre though. Earlier in his career he used to have quite a high K total, but recently he's become much more of a groundball pitcher. Rather than work the counts deep, he induces a really sick amount of early groundball outs. It keeps his pitch count low and is directly related to his high CG total (I read somewhere that he places a silly amount of pride in complete games - far more than strikeouts). That being said, it ain't Doc's year - missing a month with appendicitis, and his curiously high ERA counts him out.

My non-existent vote would be for C.C. - he's just sick (and wears his hat in a jaunty fashion ;)

Great take on the hockey game King! Me and my friends all bemoaned the stupidity (yet again) of Bettman putting up the outdoor game against Bowl Day...I hadn't even considered that it could be that Bowl Day just isn't important anymore (although it's still the best way to work off that hangover)

Apparently this is going to be a yearly thing...which is great news. I'm looking forward to Leafs v Habs down the line (i just won't be watching it with my dirty Leaf lovin' friends!)
