Football is not a bloodsport. You should look up that term. It is violent, but the participants wear helmets and pads, and they do not play until one side submits or dies. Hyperbole just helps to negate your point.
Very few make it out of poverty by becoming a professional athlete, and how does your argument make any sense when you look at all the examples (like both manning pro QB's) "privileged" kids making it to the NFL?
