    15 years for 50% chance?

    If there is a 1 in 30 chance of winning a championship each year, and there's no relation between a team's performance from one year to the next (which is what I assume you meant by "all things being equal"), a guy would have to play 21 years to have a 50% chance for a championship. A guy playing 15 years has just under a 40% chance.
