Any chance of getting a PoE update after Day 2?

Dude, step away from the keyboard.....seriously, step slowly back away from the keyboard.

What now, Duke-haters?

Now that Duke is out of the tourney, where will you focus your venom? Your irrational and passionate hatred, focused (this year) at a group of teenagers?

The bottom line is that Duke lost the game because it couldn't shoot free throws worth a warm bucket of spit. They left 12 points on the court. And -- in a replay of the end of the Virginia game -- they let the opponent's go-to guard get off a shot as the clock wound down. Whoops.

As for all of you bitching about Paulus chest-bumping the VCU player who was hand-checking him ... c'mon. Did you watch the game? What was the final tally? Three bloody blows to the head by VCU players, one (accidentally) to their own teammate? How many of you were screaming bloody murder when Henderson clocked Hansbrough while trying to block his shot? And now that Henderson gets clocked in the face and the VCU guard Kobe-s Scheyer with an awkward follow-through you're nearly wetting your pants with joy, tripping over yourselves to pick on Paulus for trying to say "enough is enough".

What if the situation was reversed? Two VCU players got bloodied faces? My god, the screaming and foaming at the mouth would never end. But when the front of the jersey doesn't say D-U-K-E, people couldn't care less. Clock error gives Duke an extra chance to beat Clemson in the regular season? Round up the refs and toss'em out for a game!! A questionable/non-existent foul call hands the game to FSU with a bow and knocks Clemson out of the NCAA tournament bubble? Meh. Apparently you (and the press) are too busy Zapruder-ing the Henderson/Hansbrough incident to notice.

Why don't we just let you guys gather all the current and former Duke players, coaches, support staff and family in one place, give you guys baseball bats, and you can just run around beating the crap out of them while giggling with joy? Because if there's anything that amuses me, I know it's watching a kid take an elbow to the face and bleed profusely. It just warms the cockles of my heart.

RE: Paulus the Brat

He's like Bobby Hurley without the charm.

Paulus the brat

I don't remember in recent memory a more whiney and obxious player than Paulus...for some reason he reminds me of his coach.

Rick Majerus ...incomprensible not a color guy

Why isn't Rick Majerus doing color commentary for CBS? He is endearingly passionate and more thoughtful than John Madden (to mix my sports metaphors) and more thoughtful and not as self-important as Billy Packer.

The one thing I can say for the CBS team is that thank god, there is NO Uber-obnoxious and boring Brent Musburger. There has be some kind of divine intervention that keeps that windbag, carnival barking,sef-aborbed hack with a voice that grates on the ears in the broadcasting bizness. If there was no intercession he would be doing WWF matches on cable.

There has to be an anti-Brent website somewhere.

Wake me...

When March is over!

wha?!

I don't watch any college basketball for 11 months a year, but it is usual for the announcers to acknowledge that a foul was called correctly but argue (seriously) that the call should have been made differently just to keep the fouling player in (thus potentially altering the outcome)? I mean if the argument is that the refs should "keep themselves out of the game" then that's the worst way to do it. Actually the argument seems more to be that he's a nice guy and doesn't deserve to be fouled out because he's such a nice young gentleman. WTH?!

CBS Sportsline...

I've got the video feed in one window and the CBS Sportsline boxscore in the other. The box score updates about ten seconds ahead of the video feed. It's kind of a strange experience. You know if the ball is going in, if the guy is going is going to travel,... I'm not sure what to make of the experience - it's sort of interesting.

Watch games for free on sportline.com

For those who don't know, sportsline.com is showing all the early-round games for free. Might be a good way to avoid those nasty blackout restrictions. A laptop, a TV, you're all set!

Please, Please, Please, put Billy Packer out to pasture

King,

Can you do anything about Billy Packer?

He's a big conference homer, and repeats his points over and over (and over).

You probably missed the 1957 reference in the UNLV-GT game.

Love the live commentary.

Go Xavier!

Yes, James

Your girlfriend has competition. I was in an Irish pub with my husband and son last night, not paying particular attention to the bball on several screens, until I happened to catch a glimpse of VCU's coach...wow. Watched the rest of the game rapt and whooped it up when VCU won in the last second.

Big Rick

You should add Rick Majerus to our pool of experts. I believe there is a scanned copy of his hand-written bracket here:

The Big Game...

as far as I'm concerned is this afternoon, when Oregon plays Cleveland of Flor...er, I mean, Miami of Ohio.

If the Ducks win, then for the next year they'd be the first and last NCAA Basketball champions, though I also think it would be kind of cool for Florida and Ohio State to meet for another championship.

Is VCU

anybody else's New Favorite Team In The World?

My god, they're fun to watch. Just manic defense and their smooth, badass-looking coach (my girlfriend says she's leaving me for him), and guys that have no problem taking the big shots.

And to knock off Duke and get in that whiny little Paulus' head? Perfect. Any game where 4 different players have to leave for blood is a classic by me. Go Rams!

Woo hoo!

Go Buster. Win one for the little guys!

Another random bracket

I also made a random bracket (without using any child labor) and it is at 140.
