Ingraham's coin in trade is distortion. Years ago, I was involved with a nude peace protest against the initial Iraq invasion. I appeared on her show with a Quaker peace activist.
At one point, I suggested to Ingraham that if she wanted to attack someone for being opposed to the war, she should focus her attention on me and not on the Quakers, since they would protest ANY war due to their religious beliefs against violence.
She whipped around and glared at me, saying -- amazingly -- "So you're trying to tell me this is a matter of religious liberty?"
Well, um... to some extent, yeah. Duh.
She didn't agree.
Frankly, what little we know about the Ft. Hood killings makes me think it's a combination of "normal" war-related stress coupled with the fact Muslims are being asked to kill Muslims in a war cooked up by liars. My understanding of Islam is that Muslims are not supposed to kill one another. Logically, this would create an even greater burden of stress, especially in domestic believers and converts. The whole situation is tragic and Bushco will, sadly, probably never make amends for destabilizing the planet so immorally.
So you're pro tax and anti liberty big deal. Still one has to wonder about those who would be willing to celebrate paying more for less value in return and thier own fiscal competence. Just because we were shaken down for more in the past is no reason that justifies it now. After 40 years of the war on poverty just how many less poor do we now have?
I never got a job from a poor man. Poor people don't buy much . Democrat and Progressive Republicans get richer and richer, the big busineses that support them get richer and richer and the little guys who run small business have thier opportunity snuffed out like it is in the elite European class structured societies under the guise of taxing the rich. Big guys get special deals and tax exemptions and government help because they are too big to fail while Joe Blows Plumbing and the like get the screws put to them. The radical far left astroturfing propaganda at work delivering us to the would be slave master paid for by George Soros and Big Business. Higher taxes on small business to deliver us to the Corparation State all under the guise again of helping the poor. Democrats don't care about raising taxes anyway as most of them don't pay them (see Obama's Cabinet nominees like Turbo Tax Tim)
More news today Ahmadenijhad and Iran issue Obama an ultimatum he chooses Israel or Iran. How's all that appeasement working?
Still Mr Benjamin cut and run and hung up on Ingraham like a coward and you've said nothing about the main issue of this thread yet. He was stopped from just parroting the far left mantra responses and he couldn't deal with it, had no answer and was reduced to this twisting of those facts in this article in weak denial of his lack of real substance. Hasan comitted an act of terror and the policies that had kept us safe for 8 years led to this first terror attack on U S soil since 9/11 and 13 are dead because of it.
Barry: "Ask the people in New York how raising the top tax rates has been working out for them."
Hey, that's a good one, Barry. How did people possibly get rich in the booming 50's with a 91% top rate?
How did anyone make any money in the booming 60's with a 75% top rate?
You say some people in New York complain about the possibility of a 39% top rate which would still be the lowest top marginal rate in the industrial world? So what? People complain about everything.
Ask the people in New York how raising the top tax rates has been working out for them. 1 and a half million less in those ranks now because they moved away and the state going broke by years end according to Gov Patterson. Ask the people in California how that extra 10% from thier check is helping out. The CRA of 1977 (Carter policy)enforcement and Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae reckless strong arm enforced thug lending policies of Clinton covered his tax increases but kicked those irresponsible problems down the road and created the real estate bubble. You can't lend money to poor credit risks and then allow special interest to come in pay off progressives in both parties to take advantage and abuse that system into bankruptcy. We know how that ends now. When attempts were made to stop it perhaps Barney Frank had been helping with his boyfriends garden in Maine a little too much and it affected his logic for opposing reforms 5 years ago. It made alot of money in the millions for Clinton advisor Franklin Raines, Rham Emanuel and Barney's boyfriend among other "well" intentioned Democrats though. Hypocrite liars all.
"Wow
It's the Bill and Barry show!"
Thank you, thank you. We'll be here all week. Tell your friends!
It's the Bill and Barry show!
For whatever reason, I find myself far less tempted to respond to the right wing trolls in this new letter format. I consider that to be a good thing!
Oh, and Barry - the Reagan administration holds the historical record for the most corrupt - 138 members. As I said before, the Reagan Administration can also take credit for ignoring the activities of AQ Kahn in spite of numerous warnings from their own CIA about him so you can lay nuclear capabilities in a number of terrorist countries squarely in the lap of the dozing Ronald.
Barry, you can protest all you like, but the history book shows that President Carter imposed economic sanctions on the USSR in response to their Afghanistan war and Reagan, upon taking office, lifted the sanctions. People can take from that historical fact whatever they want I guess. And Clinton was not exactly new boss-old boss. He believed in a tax approach the opposite of Reagan/Bush. He raised the top marginal rates. Remember what Repubs said would happen?
Actually, Reagan's first official act upon entering the White House was to insist that the solar panels Carter had put on the roof be taken down.
Veeeerrrry visionary, don't you think?
