yeah.
It's another story that says, "the Republicans will try to tell you that it's Obama's fault, which it maybe is and maybe isn't."
The headline says "is it Obama's fault?"
Which of course, gives the impression that Salon thinks it's Obama's fault, especially if to those who don't read it carefully.
"Your story has become tiresome!"
We will have to endure an onslaught from the beltway talking heads for the next three weeks....unless somebody famous does us a favor and dies. We can only hope.
Discussions about the governor's race have never been linked with Obama, just unhappiness with Corzine.
Well, "hope and change" obviously means different things to different people! Americans didn't vote for government takeover of our country. Most Americans appreciate their freedom, they're not anti-business and they want to keep as much of their paycheck for themselves instead of sharing it with "everyone".
In Virginia, there is little commentary on the fact that Bob McDonald has run to the middle in an effort to appeal to suburban, more progressive voters in Northern VA. I'm not saying he's embraced Obama, but he's distanced himself from his more conservative, younger self...arguing that he's learned to be more inclusive, less sexist, etc. Yet, none of the comitariat are talking about how successful McDonald has been denying his own Pat Robertson-inspired past.
And now we await the inevitable analysis that "The American People" said this or said that.
Oh...none of this sweep by republicans is due to disatisfaction with Obama, with his "non-governing" Presidency,
distinctly familiar to how a typical government bureaucrat would act when the rubber met the road and a decision had to be made. People want leadership...where is the "hope"...how is
that "hope" creating jobs, or are you one of the millions of "saved" jobs that an economist with a sharp pencil extrapolated.
Oh...none of the sweep by republicans is due to Pelosi ramming through trillions of dollars of wasteful spending, using the financial crisis to fund favorite liberal projects that did not make it through the earmark process because they could not be hidden. Now there is a million dollar book idea I give someone out there...Research the waste, fraud and abuse in the so called stimulus bill that my democrat congressman voted for, and probably yours too, unread and not understood, along with the Omnibus Bill and the Cap & Trade Outrage Act of 2009!
Here is my tip for my Congressman and other libs farting daily on the seats in the House and polluting the atmosphere with CO2.
Congress had approved a study that is now concluded, and meetings are taking place, that will inform you guys and gals as to the most productive way to "avoid" your constitutents..other than moving to an "undisclosed location".
Yep, you and I, fellow taxpayers, paid for this study showing our representative how they can avoid us. You know what they say in politics, "when to going gets tough, HIDE!"
Something you libs won't learn about from Chris Matthews, Mr.Ed and Lurch Olbermann. (See link below)

The election here in NJ is about dissatisfaction with the incumbent and has little to do with Obama, except for those people he pissed off when the New Jersey Turnpike had to be shut down for a half hour every time he or Biden needed to be driven to the airport.
I don't see much in the way of interest to turn out alot of Democrats and independants, to be honest. The lunatic right wing fringe is all rabid, so they'll get the turnout.
Well end up with another Michelle Bachmann disgracing congress (Hoffmann), and gay marriage will suffer a major set back. It won't be a good day, but it's not a referendum on Obama. It will just be a matter of who showed up to vote.
To the extent that any Republicans can get support in areas that aren't solidly "conservative" I think it'll be a referendum on the Democrats.
If people have already started to think that the Republicans can do a better job then the Democrats haven't made a particularly good impression since taking control of both Congress and the White House this year.
If right-wing Republicans are committed to taking control back and winning races, progressive Democrats are demoralized, and the non-aligned voters are willing to believe what a GOP candidate says then I think that will be reflected in today's results.
The Democrats shouldn't count on the majority of voters remembering anything that happened before this year.
a lot of jobs in NJ and Staten Island were "saved" by my observation in driving the route daily. Almost 30 straight miles of construction nightly, screwing up my commute, especially last night when I was trying to get home for the games.
Obama has only been in office a short period, the states in question are hardly BLUE, so if they go / stay red so be it. Corzine is hardly a "Palin" "Tea Bag" conservative.
Christie for NJ Governer.
The NJ race is all about voting for anyone but Corzine. No one I speak to in NJ are jazzed about the opposition; they are just the anti-Corzone vote. The NJ election is less about right vs left ideology and more about how much do people really abhor Corzine.
VA is typically an "R" state, so it is no surprise that they elect another Repub; also, Deeds is not an attractive alternative to many in VA. Also, for many years, VA voters have voted the opposite party of the President's party into office. This election will appear to follow history.
Although many will try to make this about the President, I think the mid-term elections will say more about people's feelings towards the President than these odd year elections. I just hate to see these odd year elections becoming such big news. Now, no matter who wins, we will have to hear the pundits spew their garbage for the next few months. What a waste.
No matter what happens in New York 23, we win. If we win, it is the first time since the Civil War...that would be sweet. But getting a far right nut that will fracture the republican base and moderate wings would be really fun too. Imagine if those fools run all hard right religious creeps next year. 2010 will go way Democratic if that happens. Virginia was stupid not to go with Terry McAuliffe. New Jersey isn't looking too bad either. I will be shocked if the fake christian party sweeps it today.
Can't wait to get to the TV tonight.
