I can only guess, not being a Republican, but I imagine that there are those who think that the Republican party is not best served by being represented by a woman with a Dominionist ideology that blends apocalyptic evangelical Christianity with exclusionary politics, who makes speeches that divide America between a "real" America which is opposed, presumably, against a "fake" America. (Which is what exactly? Gays? Atheists? Democrats? Whole Foods shoppers?) How to expand one's share of the electorate? This doesn't seem like a winning strategy.

I don't think Palin gives a crap about whether someone is gay or choses to have an abortion,it's a personal choice and your nieghbor as well as your government should keep the hell out of it.

Really. This really takes the cake for sheer defiance of logic. Sarah Palin is an evangelical Christian. If there's one thing I believe to be true about her, it's her religious beliefs. You can only be suggesting that her beliefs are fake and that she only pretends to share them with that 20% of voters who still adore her, specifically because they perceive her as an advocate for their supposedly "Christian" values. So you're saying that rather than being intolerant, she's immensely cynical. All right.

Yes, this is a popular canard, the idea that the left wing folks hate/fear Sarah Palin because she shows that one can be a successful career woman and be Christian and have a dozen children at the same time. Me, I hate Sarah Palin because she trades on her sexuality in order to distract from her incompetence. She is intellectually bankrupt, therefore it is obvious that she is being used for her appearance only--and she is either oblivious or okay with it. Thus, she is an anti-feminist. And I fear that those on the right will be unable to see through her winks and sparkly grin and nice legs and folksy aphorisms to see that she is hollow underneath it all, except for her desire for attention and power. Her lack of intellectual curiosity, much like GW Bush, renders her extremely vulnerable to bad advice, especially from those who present themselves as sharing the same religious beliefs. Thus, the idea of her seizing power at the national level is indeed scary.

The worst she can accomplish is a more effective conservative movement with hundreds more conservatives in office at all levels even if she isn't the one to take it to the hoop so to speak.

You can only define this as "the worst she can accomplish" if you regard the breakdown of the wall between church and state as a plus. Or if (as you seemed to indicate before) you don't really believe that Palin is an apocalyptic evangelical Christian who believes that God opens doors for her and that He wants her to gain political power in order to advance His holy agenda.

I would ask you why you even bother to defend her, but it's clear to me that someone whose thinking is as muddled as yours would naturally be drawn to a politician who is just as challenged when it comes to logical reasoning.
