    Couldn't hack it

    SP "governed" a state awash in oil money and federal largesse. She could've come, done her time and gone and no one would've noticed. John McCain, in a multi-level clusterfuck, dragged her into the national spotlight and it was too much for her. That's all there is to it, IMO -- no lurking mega-scandals and certainly no runs for higher office.
