I am truly weary of politicians soliciting money and promising change. They know it's what we want and it burns when no change results from contributions. What do they do with all the money? Burn it to keep warm? Asian hookers? Coke? What???

What they promised and what they delivered.

It's quite possible DeMint actually knew what he was saying. The founding fathers promised, in the Declaration of Independence:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed..."

They then delivered the Bill of Rights, in the Constitution, at a later date.

It's a July 4th themed fundraiser

So the 1776 theme makes sense. Still, it's obvious that it shouldn't have emphasized the Constitution and maybe talked about "freedom" and "independence" and whatnot.

Of course, an appeal saying that Democrats are working hard to undermine the country, sell out to China, etc. would still have been total crap.

I am so sick of all this pandering to the "let's return to the principles of our founding fathers" crap. When people pull out this tripe, they conveniently ignore the sad fact that our beloved founders saw fit to disenfranchise women and enslave Africans and their descendants. So excuse me if I have a somewhat-less reverent view of the FF. I happen to prefer the 2009 version of the Constitution.

Obama lied as fast and hard as Bush ever did.

He sets the example- therefore, he is to be held to a higher standard than dumbshit DeMint.

Obama frivolously projected thousands of meaningless words to get himself elected. He is no worse or better than his predecessors but one thing is clear- he built his empire on promises of transparency that are not occurring and, likely, never will.

THIS is an enormous disservice to truth and his personal character WHICH will impact the future of how this country is governed.

To lessen criticism for the sake of ideology is to serve oneself rotgut in a glass of lukewarm self-righteousness.
