A man who spouts such bile should have yellowing crooked teeth. It's just an uncomfortable juxtaposition.
Also, Dobbs is losing out to a repeat of Chris Matthews' show, not the original.
Times just ain't what they used to be for Lou anymore. Hating folks from other countries used to be big business. used to be big business and money in the bank. Now it just sounds racist and old. Maybe Lou needs to stop living in 1952 and come on over to the new century.
I first turned on Dobbs about 2 years ago, and for about a week I was impressed with his passion over the disappearing middle class. The more I watched, however, the more I noticed he made deeply unsubstatiated value judgements, used loaded language to slant a discussion, rarely listened to what his opposing guests were saying and ultimately would sum up a debate in his own words -- if he had lost the debate, he changed the subject in his summary, but always ended by making himself appear wiser. I had stopped watching altogether by the time he bit into the immigration issue and tore at it like a mad dog. He's not as evil as O'Reilly's decidedly false reporting, but just as vain and stupid.
That is the bottom line. The same thing over and over and over and over again. Even my mother who was a fan stopped watching.
I don't know about the more stupid things about leprosy because frankly, I haven't watched his show for more than 5 minutes at a time, (and not for at least a year) but I will give him credit for staring discussion about illegal immigration. It was an issue that needed exposure.
I haven't listened to that right wing venom spewer in years. His constant fear mongering, trying to scare us from Mexicans is disturbing. He is such a condescending and incredulous asshole that I will never watch his show again. In fact CNN has really gone downhill over the last couple years with all of their conservatives. MSNBC is the only news channel worth watching anymore. Unfortunately in my car, my Sirius satellite radio doesn't get MSNBC so I have no choice but to listen to CNN.
It won't matter what Lou Dobbs says. Death to America.
Specifically, his bottom teeth when the juts them out for his "angry bulldog" face. Scary. If they really wanted to build a border fence, they should use giant replicas of those.
I wonder if Dobbs could stop the loss of viewer by taking a refresher course on the differences between facts and values (assuming he knew the difference sometime in the past!). Extreme distortions seem to him to be the truth. To constantly mistake ones value laden views for scientific objectivity eventually turns off even the kind of viewers he has, i.e. those who can't separate facts from values, i.e conservative Republicans, because even conservative Republicans, though very few at a time, can be spontaneously enlightened when reality seeps through, or they take a refresher course on the difference between fact and value when they sense themselves on the way to extinction!
I haven't watched Lou much in the last few years, so I don't know what the focus of his show is these days. Having said that, there was a time back in the early 2000s when Lou was the only voice in the MSM speaking up for American workers displaced by our disastrous free trade policies.
As a long time (since the mid-1980s) software developer, my career was facing oblivion in 2002-2005 because of the Wall Street backed rush to offshore all jobs in my field to low wage countries, particularly India, combined with the push by corporations to import indentured servants from these same countries to fill the jobs that remained here by abusing the H1B and similar "non-immigrant" visa programs. Politicians from both parties bent over backwards to enact legislation at the behest of their corporate masters to facilitate this. After being unemployed for a number of months and facing the loss of my home, I happened to encounter my "Democratic" Senator in public one day. He listened patiently as I explained as best I could the problems facing educated, hard working, soon to be former middle class Americans that were being caused by these race to the bottom free trade deals. After I finished, my supposedly liberal elected representative (who I voted for) told me that free trade would create "winners" and "losers" but, in the long run, it would benefit us all. He wasn't alone though. This was the same tripe that was being propagated by corporations, politicians of all stripes, and the MSM at the time. There was one notable exception to this common front of lies with a national audience. His name was Lou Dobbs and he called the bastards out five nights a week on CNN.
Basically, corporations have been trying to increase their profits for years by undercutting American labor's wages. They do this by shipping high end jobs overseas and by employing, legally and illegally, workers from other countries who are desperate enough to work for less money than Americans can live on under working conditions that have been legislated against after decades of struggle by the labor movement. The myth that these jobs are just ones that Americans are either too stupid or too lazy to do was something that Lou Dobbs called bullshit on. Regardless of anything else, we owe him our thanks for doing this when no one else would
Lou Dobbs like Tom Tancredo is a one trick pony. There is a limit to how many times he can milk his illegal immigrant storyline. I can't wait for Sonia Sotomayor to get confirmed. That's probably Obama's way of sticking it to him.
Serves him right, the hate monger.
The only people I know who watch Dobbs are over 80 years old. No wonder his audience is shrinking!
is that Dobbs wife is a Mexican American!
his daughters are 1/2 mexican
and his mexican in-laws live with them.
how do they look at him? the husband/father hates the mexicans...
weird very weird
