Cheney didn't change after 9/11

While Cheney didn't change after 9/11 he did see a chance to grab more power and accomplish goals that would have not been possible before the attack.

You can't trust anyone who benefits so much from a failure to stop something like the attacks on September 11th, 2001.

Utter crap

Bush and Cheney were told we'd be attacked using airliners and did nothing. We were attacked and they lied us into a war that killed thousands more Americans. How does Cheney twist this into a history of success at protecting America? The man is no different than Rush Limbaugh, and certainly no better.

am I the only one...

...who can imagine dick cheney pumping his fist in the air on the morning of 9/11? To him it wasn't a catastrophe, it was mana from heaven.

I suspect we're seeing him non-stop these days because he sees his gravey train threatened, and I've always believed this whole thing has always come down to lining his own pockets.

Our Criminal VP

keeps on lying & twisting truth. 9/11 was a lucky strike, aided by the criminal inaction taken by his regime in the face of multiple warnings about Bin Laden's intentions.

If those poor passengers on the 1st 3 flights had known what Bin Laden's dupes had in store for them, those planes would never have reached their targets.

The other reason there hasn't been a repeat of 9/11 is because a whole lot of American targets have been riding around in Iraq, etc.

God, what a pathetic waste of humanity is Dick Cheney.

Failure

But I'll freely admit that watching a coordinated, devastating attack on our country from an underground bunker at the White House can affect how you view your responsibilities."

So witnessing your failure to fulfill your responsibilities affects how you view your responsibilities? Who would have thought?

The terrorist crime and the deaths of well over 3,000 people on that day are the direct result of Cheney and Bush ignoring their responsibilities. Everything that they've done since is an attempt to deny that reality.

Thursday, May 21, 2009 10:52 AM

You can also choose

...to state the fact that 9/11 happened on this man's watch (You almost can't call it Bush's watch, as the true source of cronyism and profiteering that led that disaster of a presidency was directed from this swine's shed.).

I am tired of this a**hole. It is time to relegate him to the bin of irrelevance. He has nothing new to say.

Move on.

A little trick to make Cheney's speech palatable

As I watched, I imagined his snarky, bitter diatribe as if he was barking-it-out between gray, steel bars. It made the whole thing take-on a kind of "help, let me out of this jail" tone and, despite the issue at hand, made me smile.

Dick Cheney is irrelevant

It's like listening to the dog.

Pathological liar

Cheney is a pathological liar who should be behind bars. When is this clown going to stop trying to wring more profit for himself at our country's expense? Does he ever stop lying? Remember the 2000 debate when Cheney lied about living off of government aid when his company was receiving preferential loans for oil exploration in places like Burma? Cheney thinks the American middle class is a source of cheap slave labor, if only he could get rid of this tawdry democracy thing. Our descendants will be so proud to remember him as the clown who brought TORTURE to the United States. Cheney should be first is line for water-boarding. Bring on the TRUTH COMMISSION!

This cold cold creep..

..could pull his own mother's finger nails out with a pair of plyers, and be as cool as a cucumber...

Wow...

This guy trying really hard to save his soul.

He is obviously very afraid of investigations into his conduct.

0% approval rating

This morron can't even talk with a straight mouth. With his approval rating he should crawl into a hole and never wake up. If he and GEORGE WORTHLESS BUSH would have listened to reports that we were going to get atacked instead of trying to figure the best way to give the fucking rich more tax breaks we would have not been in this mess. Old fuckhead hanity of fox noise is blowing that bush inherited 911. The stupid republicans all think the same, not our fault.

All Those Heart Attacks

Does anyone else wonder whether all those heart attacks have left Dick Cheney with some irreversible brain damage? I have always heard that can happen. I agree with the comment that he is irrelevant. There is no reason why the press should pay so much attention to him. They would be doing him a favor by ignoring him just as they would anyone else with a mental illness who made similar speeches.

Lack of attention

"But no moral value held dear by the American people obliges public servants ever to sacrifice innocent lives to spare a captured terrorist from unpleasant things." ~~Dick Cheney

I think Mr. Cheney should think about the hundreds of innocent people who were rounded up, subjected to "unpleasant things" and, in some cases, died while in the care of their captors. Apparently, that fact has escaped his attention.

EX-PRESIDENT CHENEY THINKS HE'S STILL PRESIDENT

Dick Cheney seems to think he is still president. Looks like he got 4 more years after all. Seems he thought we were kidding when we said we had elected a new black president. What?? Where?? Someone should enlighten him and let him know that we only have one president at a time. He had his 8 years as president and he committed illegal and criminal acts too numberous to mention. Instead of being on tv peddling his propaganda and twisted version of the truth, he should be in a courtroom being tried for taking our country to war under dishonest and misleading circumstances, other war crimes and treason. And he should be convicted and imprisioned. He and his major supporter George W. have left this country in a mess unparalleled in history and one that we may just never recover from. This man is a devious, evil pervert and should be treated as such.

Of course he's angry

Dick Cheney is a war criminal. That case is being built very obviously in the public record, and the more evident his crimes are, the closer he is to serving time for his crimes.

That he did what he believed was right at the time doesn't actually justify his actions. It says that he has a bullying, secretive streak that under the right conditions, with the right power, was activated to attempt to re-assert control over a world that had become unpredictable and frightening.

Let him be angry. It's long past time we took a cold, hard look at what exactly was going on in his office.
