The White House's full-court press on Afghanistan & Pakistan

Sadly we are going to continue killing even innocent people in those countries to establish democracy. According to our Pres, he states Pakistan, Afghanistan and the US has to protect its national security! I'm wondering if there is more concern about other countries in the Arab world establishing closer ties with Afghan & Pak? I believe Israel is very much favorable in what we are doing in those two countries and hoping Iran is on the hit list also.

The collaspe is unstoppable

Afcrackistan is going down the tubes and there's nothing anyone can to stop that. Nukes, no nukes, makes no difference. All we need do is back away to a safe distance and let it all melt.

@Omar Effendi

Now why would Obama burn down those Poppy plantations his buddies in those mob rackets profit so much from? Next thing you'd probaly want is for them to secure our Mexican border and shut his buddies out of all that income too.

Just when his rackets were getting control of the banks,and auto industry? C'mon man. It's a troubling time when we have to bribe a country like Pakistan to defend itself. Hey if we give you a few billion would you try to stop the Taliban from taking over your country now? Like closing Gitmo,there is no plan. Barry just doesn't want to make his buddies upset so it's lip service to us and cross your fingers the Terrorist don't get the nukes.

Where's Obama's exit strategy?

Once upon a time, Obama said our Afghanistan policy should include an exit strategy. But it looks like he's jumping into the swamp. Too bad, for us and for the unfortunate residents of Central Asia.

Mostly I'm glad he's committed to moving us beyond the 60s. But on this escalation, he's getting trapped in an all too familiar pattern, a situation where application of US military force only leads to more death, more chaos and less desirable outcomes. He should take a lesson from what happened to Kennedy and LBJ.

I Checked Out This Topic.......

to see if there'd be righteous indignation about the recent civilian deaths in Afghanistan - I remember how left wingers blamed Bush for every one of them!

But all I find is five comments and no indignation. Hmmmmmm.....oh, I forgot! BO and the Dems are in charge, and killing civilians is fine now - never mind.

The true Fight-Them-Over-There war...

The assasination of Benazir Bhutto in 12/07 appears to have led to more divided factions, and a weak government that won't stand up to anarchists. Hillary Clinton called them out for it last week, rightfully so -- found a cool site; Balkingpoints ; incredible satellite view of earth

In other news . . .

HEROIN is both plentiful and cheap.

Cheaper than the legal alternatives.

We are not leaving Afghanistan ANYTIME soon.
