Edwards acknowledges he's under federal investigation

The feds are looking into donations to the former senator's campaign and PAC, and whether money may have been diverted to his mistress.

It is sad this scumbag enabled Totus to take power

The way the left MSM refused to investigate or report on this matter should be investigated as well. The NY Times could print a rumor of a McCain affair on the front page while refusing to even acknowlege this till they became embarassed not to and until it had damaged the Hillary caimpaign enough by denying her votes in crucial states. We would be far better off with a Clinton today than with Totus (Teleprompter of the United States). When the teleprompter went bad on Bill during a State of the Union speech he knew the material and gave a great speech,he knew the material. Even Sarah Palin's teleprompter went out at the convention and she winged a great presentation. Obama is lost without Totus,he's thanked himself at dinners and fumbled miserably at functions when it went out. Leadership is being able to react at the moment and know your stuff in the moment and this is dangerous to the country because the inability of Obama in leadership preparation has been exposed to the world. The country has a good special interest spokesman not a leader.He can read whatever some flunky can write well but that's his limit. Edwards is scum and to do this to a dying wife and the lack of character regarding the MSM jouralism ethics to overlook this purposely is horrible. They share the blame when it all goes bad soon.

@libertyaintfree

libertyaintfree you are misinformed. The Sarah Palin story about the bad telepromter is a lie. If President Obama couldn't work without a telepromter he wouldn't have kicked HRC's and McCains rear ends in the debates. As for Edwards I pity him. He lives nearby and I see him at times. He used to be a happy looking person, and now whenever I see him he looks tired and depressed. Liberty isn't free, and neither is living with a mind full of lies and hatred.

Hope it was worth it

I hope the sex was really hot to make this all worth it for John Edwards. Because it has sure screwed up his life. I was a supporter of his, and now I just think the very worst of him. The affair itself is his personal business, between him and his wife - BUT - his choice to run for the presidency knowing this had happened was the epitome of selfishness. Forget the ethics of it (which are dispicable) but, it just shows extremely poor judgement, lack of discipline, arrogance. I am just glad he withdrew his candidacy before I wasted my primary vote on him. I also blame his wife - she knew this had happened and she supported his run for the presidency. Just imagine what a political mess it would have been, and how very bad it would be for the Democratic party, if he had become a viable candidate. Did he learn nothing from Bill Clinton's mess ? He should have gone and gotten advice from Bill when his penis was guiding his judgement. What a dickhead !!

@marc22309

The story about Bill Clinton is true. The gaffes by Obama are on tape. We should have pity for Edwards because he's sad? The Craigs list murderer is sad now as well do you pity him? He's sad cause he got caught and exposed and his money grubbing ambulance chasing corruptness is now known and his political life over. I hope they prosecute and he goes to jail I submit to you that Mrs Edwards might rather have been waterboarded than this done to her with a terminal illness where a positive attitude is essentail for survival. Edwards was a phoney and what was done to Hillary by the MSM bad for the country and they should be called out for it. Misinformed not. Excuse making liberal you.

@libertyaintfree

at first i thought you might be being sarcastic or something... maybe some newfangled wannabe colbert-esque wit? but for real, the TELEPROMPTER is what you take issue with?

anyhoo... about 5 wasted minutes of research into your previous postings and it was a pleasure to realize you have been wrong about everything you've ever posted. you and bill kristol are like reverse diving rods, whichever direction you are pointed in is the wrong one.

oh, and edwards is a total douche. can't everyone in politics just keep in their pants or at least learn how to be far more stealthy about which hallway their hot dog gets thrown down?

What the heck is this Teleprompter obsession?

After all, we just came off of eight years with a president who had to wear a radio-receiver earpiece during the presidential debates, and even then couldn't hold his own! In fact, even before the 2004 debates people remarked about how Shrub would get this thousand-yard look while speaking and pause while listening to his instructions.

Monday, May 4, 2009 10:56 AM

@obama's law blog

If Totus the Telepromter could speak for itself it wouldn't need Obama. Obama is lost without Totus. It was wrong for the MSM to ignore the Edwards issue during the primaries and it hurt Hillary. These are truths and calling Edwards scum now doesn't make you anymore credible.

Isn't it funny. . .

. . .that the worst thing Libertyaintfree can say about President Obama is that he's not good without a teleprompter?

I mean, I know it's a bunch of bullcrap, but just think of the previous president. Oh yes, W was well-spoken and erudite, and Obama sounds like a bumbling idiot after listening to W for eight years. LOL!

The crap these Repugs come up with just slays me.

LIBERTY Ain't: Get over the Teleprompter thing...

as previous poster pointed out there were the debates, but also Obama's many (too many) successful press conferences (totally thinking on his feet to answer spontaneous questions) to show that you're all wet. & even if he DID have problems speaking w/o teleprompter, he's STILL be miles ahead of the mush mouthed (& mush brained) Moron In Chief that left DC in January. If all you got is whining about teleprompters, STFU!

Monday, May 4, 2009 11:07 AM

@RDisdier

There are many things worse to say about Obama but I'll let Totus and Barack tell them to you themselves.

Monday, May 4, 2009 11:10 AM

I'm guessing libertyaintfree would plotz

If someone like, oh, say, Ronald Reagan were ever seen to have a teleprompter.

Oh wait - http://s332.photobucket.com/albums/m335/dmhlt48/Teleprompter%20-%20Reagan/?action=view&current=2102fb6a.pbw
