Anti-immigration leader Chris Simcox is stepping down from his group to run against the Arizona senator, who has a moderate record on the issue.

May Someone Investigate Him

I hope John McCain uses some of his money to have this guy and the Minutemen put under a microscope so they can be exposed for the phonies and hate mongers they truly are. Let's hope the politics is really down and dirty here. Let them expose it all from the mismanagement of Minuteman funds to the Mexican children with Minuteman fathers not paying child support..... Pure fantasy and speculation on the latter, but.....

We need a real shoot em out in the next election cycle where the conservative kooks try to get revenge for Obama being elected.

Perhaps predicting the Right's unfortunate ignorance of the sexual connotations of the term "teabag"...

there have been dozens or perhaps hundreds of men in Arizona proud to call themselves "minutemen".

Political expediency

I see he is quitting his position with the Minutemen in order to run for the Senate. Does this mean he is disavowing them, pushing more to the center? Seems he wants the extreme right wing vote, but he is pushing them aside in order to get the more moderates, to whom his leadership of that extremist organization would be a turn off. I guess Paris is worth a mass.

I think McCain would be good to have in the Senate when Immigration comes up

Definitely over someone like Simcox.

Sigh...

This could've been Janet Napolitano's for the asking...

Simcox

has a lot of potential baggage, what with claims of child abuse and other dark mutterings by his numerous ex wives - none of which has been fully vetted in the press. McCain is venal and power besotted enough to throw all of this into the race. Of course, he will have surrogates do it, just like he tried with "that one".

A pox on both their houses... maybe it will be mutually assured destruction. Is there a viable Democratic competitor eyeing the race?

So what?

http://www.simcoxforsenate.com/ looks like it's a 1:1 exchange as far as intellect goes. McCain could stand a little pasture time IMHO.
