Nevada has a 10.5 and climbing unemployment rate. State colleges face a 50% cut for 2009-2010 after having been cut 35% the previous year. Schools are laying off teachers. Basic services are reduced. Yet Jim changed the locks on the state mansion before telling his wife he was divorcing her.

Jim Rogers, the chancellor of higher education, is ridiculed for his calling Gibbons what he is and calling attention to how he is not looking after the survival of the state. Roger's rants were painted as crazy in national media, when in reality they came from frustration over a governor who is not putting the people of Nevada first.

I met the Gibbons in 1994 when he ran unsuccessfully for Governor. As one of the least effective members of congress, he managed to campaign for governor and win.

The person I feel sorriest for is the woman who accused him during his election run. She was made out to be trash and a liar, all because she was beautiful and a "Cocktail waitress"! As a woman, I have been incensed since then. I just felt I knew the man and as a Nevadan,I can tell you we got the worst of it. He stands on his no tax crap, as the state falls apart! And he just keeps playing.

If you are dating a mafia boss, pimp, strip club owner, investment banker, politician, or high powered executive, that man will use his power to get multiple women at the same time. Powerful men get lots of women. That is the point of power.

So the governor dates multiple women at the same time. So what. Isn't that the point of climbing the political ladder and gaining power? In more civilized countries executive mistresses are tolerated and expected. Look at the standards that Wall Street is held to. Everyone knows about the high prices call girl industry. Remember Spitzer? Why is it a travesty when public servants engage in what private actors do on a regular basis? Men of success and power date multiple women at the same time. It has been that way since the dawn of humanity. Can we please get over this.
