Quote of the day

John McCain says he knows why people voted for the Republican ticket last fall -- and it wasn't because of him.

Not Funny

Creepy. Over 50 million people voted for an old, sick man to hurry up and die so their princess could become Queen. Rethugs are some seriously twisted people.

Thursday, March 26, 2009 12:07 PM

The real John McCain would be angry.

This woman was propped up as some kind of savior for the right and she wasn't even at the top of the ticket. And in the end, he lost anyway in no small part because of her. I can't help thinkng the 2000 John McCain wouldn't have put up with that kinda shit!

Palin/Bachman 2012

A guy can dream, right?

Thursday, March 26, 2009 12:11 PM

Failin & McGrump

If that point of fact wasn't so damn scary I would laugh...

50 million votes....

Thursday, March 26, 2009 12:35 PM

Yo, John,

had you not picked that Lenscrafters Gargoyle, you might have won.

Thursday, March 26, 2009 12:37 PM

How can he act like a human being today, with this quote...

...but be such a preposterous twit when he talks about the economy?

Thursday, March 26, 2009 12:43 PM

50 Million

Was it really 50M?

How many were just plain not going to vote for a black guy? Guess it might be impolite to bring that up.

Thursday, March 26, 2009 12:48 PM

Maybe those 50M voted for her,

but how many votes did he lose because he picked her? I know in my family of about 3 (not me) who would have considered him before he picked that idiot. Well, they preferred the 2000 version of McCain, but were still willing to consider last year.

Thursday, March 26, 2009 12:58 PM

I disagree with this entirely

If he remained moderate and had picked a sane VP candidate, he would've had a much better chance.

Thursday, March 26, 2009 01:18 PM

I know at least 9 people

who voted AGAINST McCain because of Sarah Palin.

Thursday, March 26, 2009 01:22 PM

In Other Words...

...50 million people mostly voted for a person who cannot name the countries of North America, a single Supreme Court case outside of Roe v. Wade, any news media source that she reads, claims that Vladimir Putin's head has designs on her state, asserts that the Vice President sets the "legislative agenda" of the US Senate, and attends church services that invites witch hunters. 50 million of the dumbest people in this country.

Thursday, March 26, 2009 01:22 PM

Alex please tell us

About Bob Dole's thoughts on why he lost in 96. It's as relevant as this crud.

50 Million Rubes?

So people actually voted for the republican candidates cause Sarah is cute? She has a marked lack of intelligence in all things government...except maybe Alaska government...took six colleges to get a degree? Maybe she should have tried online?

God in heaven! We actually have a president that can speak fluently and with intelligence, one that will ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING about this mess we're in!!!! Thank the powers that be...we the voters...that prevented this exception to logic and thought..from becoming the so called leaders of the free world.

Run this gene pool refugee in 2012 as the republican presidental candidate you morons. I welcome the challenge...small as it is.

@diocletian

You just don't get it.Conservatives didn't vote for Sarah Palin they just voted for someone, could have been anyone, who was real, you knew who she was and told you the truth as she saw it.We wanted a fellow common american in office. We didn't want somebody who was part of the same old corrupt political machines.Somebody who didn't rent mobs to create and take advantage of public outrage,or took larger donations from companies like AIG.Republicans ,McCain included, had sold us out and spent wrecklessly and didn't deserve our votes. We wanted somebody we could at least feel sincerely wanted to cut spending, look out for our best interest regardless of personal views. We still want this.

The machines fear Sarah Palin though or they wouldn't hound her legally to bankrupt by legal fees or discredit in some way for anything stupid they may find.Keep her name in the media trying to trash her or burn out her appeal. The funny thing is there are more Sarah Palins. The constant bashing of her lack of knowlege by the left point something out,she may not be that special and doesn't need to be.The last eight years proved at least one thing that you don't need a genius for that job.We the people just want our country back and we'll work on things from there. The next change is coming from the people. That will be change you can believe in.

That question has been answered

"How many were just plain not going to vote for a black guy? Guess it might be impolite to bring that up."

30 percent of Illinoisianians voted for Alan Keys (black, crazy, not a native son) in 2004 instead of Barack Obama. So you can assume that at least 30 percent of all voters will vote for absolutely anyone with the Republican label.

I guess the Palin advocates want to make sure of nailing down that 30 percent.

That was so funny! I believe the last 8 years proved you do need someone who's not average, who's not a dummy, who can tackle large problems quickly.

The last 8 years we were served by one of if not THE worst president of the USA and look where we are now!

Thursday, March 26, 2009 08:06 PM

funwithtrees, you took the bait

That's gotta be a troll.

While I'm certain that the Republican base is unconsciously voting for stupid people because they're afraid of being outsmarted by their own candidates, I'd never imagine they'd actually admit they're doing it deliberately.

Palin's Conservatives...

@ libertyaintfree

"We wanted somebody we could at least feel sincerely wanted to cut spending, look out for our best interest regardless of personal views. We still want this."

Right, and that's why she supported taking money from the fed gov't for the bridge to nowhere, while lying to people in the national campaign about how much she initially opposed it. That's why she imposed the largest tax increase in the history of Alaska, on oil profits no less, while running as a conservative in the national campaign. That's why she criticizes Obama's budget spending and yet takes stimulus money to battle the state's budget deficit (ah, yes, she's "only taking" 69% of the stimulus money, even though the other $600 million of our money is going directly on our national debt [and all to subsidize the spending habits of her administration]). But you'd never know that a third of Alaska's budget comes from us (the federal taxpayer). You have to be awfully deluded to think this airhead is the throne to anything other than the complete ignorance and stupidity of Republican voters to accept anyone that winks at them.
