Steele on Limbaugh: "We are all good"

The RNC chair says that, after his call to the radio host, relations between the two men are back to normal.

The letters thread is now closed.

Mr. Steele is shlocked! Frankly schlocked...

That anybody would imagine any real problem between him and The Great Entertainer. Then Mr. Steele Limpedaughf the podium. He seemed to be in a Rush to get away from the microphones.

Young voters

I can't imagine what policies or positions the Republican party espouses that would attract young voters. Tax cuts aren't a big issue because young voters don't make a lot of money (and Pres. Obama lowered the taxes for them anyway). Young voters favor universal health care, peace and diplomacy instead of war, environmental conservation, science over ideology, etc. The only conceivable argument conservatives might win is smaller government, but conservatives can only talk about it and ignore their track record, whereas liberals actually do make government more efficient and streamlined.

All this is to say, this act Steele is putting on comes across as hopelessly desperate.

Knew he'd cave!

Just happened a lot sooner then I thought! What was all that the trolls said in the other thread about Limbaugh NOT being the leader of the GOP? Face it, repubs, your Limbaugh's little bitch! When one of you actually grows a pair and stands up to this idiot, then we might listen to you agian, but don't hold your breath. Ha! Ha! Kiss the ring of your Dear Leader!

This just shows ...

Steele is an entertainer, too.

Who knew?

low hung pants

I can't wait to see their pants down to their knees.

If Obama wants "the brothers to pull their pants up", the republicans, in their new found dopeness, should be advocating even lower pants.

Take it back.

How could Steele say "We are all good" after Rush's "Barrack The Magic Negro" stunt? Is he stupid enough to believe that it was all in good fun? Can't he see Limbaugh for who he is,a rabble-rousing biggot? Come on, one of you Republicans has to stand up to him before he completely wrecks your party like McCarthy did.McCain, redeem yourself, your party bosses saddled you with Sarah Palin now this gas-bag is taking over. Just say something like "At long last sir have you no shame?" Take back the moral high ground, for your party, for your country.

Oh my

As your basic knee-jerk lib, I'm beginning to feel a little sorry for Mr. Steele. He is in an impossible position. The guy was trying to do the right thing by positioning the party to appeal to minorities, which they must do to win in the future, and the Grand Poobah, Rushbo, cuts him off at the kneecaps.

If he had stood up to El Jerko, not only would he have retained some dignity, he might have been on the road to implementing his agenda. By groveling to the King of the far-right wingnuttia, he has fubar. As long as the Limbaugh wing is in charge, sane, moderate repubs are disgusted (I know some of them), and the party is not going to appeal to anyone but angry white males, and the women under their thumbs.

Therefore, my sympathy for Mr. Steele is minor compared to the glee I feel at the implosion of the repubs. You go El Rushbo -- keep talkin'! Mr. Steele, have you thought about a new career?

Caving to the Raving

Remember when the G(overnment)O(f)P(urity) was bashing Bill Clinton about taking a toke or two of pot and calling every Democrat in sight a flip-flopper? Now they're dancing to the ravings of an oxycodone/hydrocodone addict with a messianic complex who longs to see the US collapse so his greedy corporate pals can have a free-for-all without bothersome restraint or social accountability. Steele and other GOP leaders who continue to cave in to evil intentions are equally culpable for their outcomes. "Feel the (OxyContin) Rush?" No thanks. I prefer my leaders to be sane and responsible.

All good in the hood, Steelio?

Jaysus...this is like watching an episode of HBO's Oz - Steele just became another of Rush's bitches and now it's toss his salad time! Yo, Mikey, what does Limbfat like - jelly or honey?

Poor,sad,defensive GOP... :)

@LoriW87

As your basic knee-jerk lib, I'm beginning to feel a little sorry for Mr. Steele. He is in an impossible position.

He is?

Yes, he could grovel and reverse himself in humiliating submissiveness to Rush Limbaugh, which would immediately ruin his credibility and confirm to everyone that Rush Limbaugh now runs the party, just as Rahm Emanuel claimed the day before. This would pretty much nail down the perception that Rahm Emanuel was right in the rest of what he said also, which paints the entire GOP as now hoping that the country fails, and doing so out of pure political spite.

Or, he could not. Steele could stick to what he said, which would make the first tiny steps of moving the party away from the bigotry and racism of Limbaugh, and put it back on the road to being relevant again someday.

I can't for the life of me see any downside to the second choice, except that lots of dittoheads would complain, loudly. If Steele made the mistake of thinking that this is something that actually matters, it was a big mistake indeed.

I wonder

Does Steele wake up every morning, look in the mirror and mutter "House Nigga"

Tuesday, March 3, 2009 01:15 PM

Steele vs. Blubber

Relations back to normal between the two eh?? That is scary to imagine!

Steele appears to be doing his best Harry Reid impersonation though. =|

@ Bill E. Pilgrim

Supposedly, after Chrmn Steele dissed Rush, the phone lines at the RNC were jammed with wingnuts calling in outrage (sorry I can't remember where I read this). I consider that a downside, as I think we all know just how they effective they're at harassing an individual when they're unhappy --- remember the Harriet Miers nomination?

Anyway, Steele proved he is not a man of steel, and didn't do himself or his party any good by groveling before the entertainer.
