I can't believe there are fools here who believe the MSM lies about Scooter Libby "outing" Valerie Plame. This is pure fantasy and nonsense. The slime-bag, Richard Armitage, outed Ms. Plame (after she had already outed herself about a dozen times.) The coward, Armitage, remained silent and Patrick Fitzgerald never brought up the fact that he KNEW Armitage was the "culprit." Scooter Libby didn't out anyone and should have been pardoned by George Bush.

I've read that several of you think Bush and Cheney need to be investigated and that Obama wants to look forward to the future, which is what he needs to do, for the moment.

Go to: http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ and write Obama. This may be a case of "I agree with you, now Make Me Do It." There are people out there, even in Congress, calling for an investigation and it looks like at least we may get a committee to start looking into the trashing of our Constitution. We have to push and keep pushing to make it happen. Write your senators and representatives the same. Snail mail, not just email. And make phone calls.

Cheney and Bush broke the international agreements re : Torture. Cheney will be lucky if HE doesnt see the inside of a jail, not only for the Palme affair but for the hideous way they broke the law to allow torture in the name of the United States of America. I know that Obama says he wants to look to the furture but the U.S. pushed for trails for the former Yugoslavia etc, their former President has been charged with war crimes JUST LIKE BUSH AND CHENEY SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH WAR CRIMES!! I wonder how they sleep at night with the deaths of over 4000 american men and woman on their respective conciouses just so Bush and Cheney can 'take over a country' with their friends the Blackhawk people and the Haliburton people. All of that NEEDS to be investigated with appropriate action taken. Unless the United States governement is willing to do this, they have no right to expect anyone else in the world to be jailed for these types of crimes. Also the rewarding of further contracts to contractors that are responsible for the electrocution deaths of several servicemen needs to be stopped. Why are we paying incompetants huge money to NOT do a job correctly?? ALL contracts involved in Iraq need to be reviewed with cancelation in mind.

For people like Cheney, government has very little to do with law and is entirely determined by personal relationships. Libby was his right-hand man and took the fall for him on the Plame matter (which, had justice prevailed, should have resulted in Cheney's indictment). So of course Cheney wants to get a get-out-of-jail card for Libby. It's more than jail time - he wants Bush to proclaim that Libby did the right thing.

Just like Cap Weinberger and Ollie North and Halderman, Ehrlichman, and G. Gordon Liddy, who all put party loyalty over the rule of law.

Bush doesn't care because he sees the entire episode as being Cheney's fault. Cheney's need to have petty revenge on Joe Wilson led to the embarrassing Plame affair. There is no doubt in my mind that the whole thing was a Cheney-directed job. (I mean, really. His Chief of Staff was behind it - do you think Libby broke the law in the execution of his duty not at Cheney's behest?)

In the big picture, the Plame affair is a small thing compared to the many things Cheney appears to be getting away with.
