RNC Chairman Duncan withdraws from race

The man who oversaw a disastrous 2008 for the Republican Party will not get another chance to lead the GOP.

wow! there's actually someone who wants to thank Bush!

I'm actually more inclined to do something substantially less friendly ...

how pathetic

It's almost enough to make me feel sorry for this sad little man. The "high point" of his life is his association with bush the small? Gad! I mean... this guy has a wife and a kid... don't they figure in his "high point" list? What about "family values"? A man crush on a spectacularly failed president trumps your own friggin' family!

sheesh!

Good for Duncan!

We now know there is ONE Republican that can face reality.

Money Where Mouth Is

Whoever becomes RNC Chair should make it clear that the party's objection to the stimulus package means that no Republican politician will accept a single cent of stimulus money for the area they represent.

Seems only fair.

Duncan's a loser

"Obviously the winds of change are blowing at the RNC,"

REALLY?!?! Figure that out all by yourself? Been workin it out since 2006 and finally come to that conclusion?

"At this time I wish to withdraw my nomination as chairman of the RNC. I want to thank President Bush ... It has truly been the highlight of my life."

The way I was reading that it sounded like he was, especially in light of the previous quote, blaming Bush and thanking him sarcastically.
